In September 2022 we had a dinner at this place. We have been there several times before and this place used to be a sort of our favourite, not to go often, but rather to celebrate something significant in our lives. Last visit has completely changed our perception about this place. That evening a bad experience has started with a service. The waiter (tall young curly guy) was simply ignoring us. He paid attention to all the other tables with guests which arrived later than us. We were observing how he brought there the menus, took their orders, brought them drinks. After all he came to us and we have ordered a bottle of red wine. After this waiter was going to smoke, doing whatever but not bringing us our wine. 20 minutes later he came saying this wine is not available and we had to order another bottle. Overall 30-40 minutes since we took a table we finally got our wine and glasses. For the meal we have ordered NASI GORENG & SATAY for me and PRAŽENI SOBA REZANCI for my partner. I’d like specifically to mention that my rice was cold and full of lumps flat one sided, like it was a rise cooked hours ago that was sticked and then scrapped from the bottom of the pot. Also rice was completely overcooked, and I don’t understand how the place that positioning itself as place for asian food doesn’t know how to cook rice.
We have paid all together overall 70 euros for this dinner which is quite a price, and we were expecting at least a normal service and normal behaviour. But unfortunately the service and food were totally unacceptable. This feedback is for the owners, hope they can change something. Otherwise I don’t wish anyone to...
Read moreI would not advise this place. Maybe I was not very lucky though, and they just did not wake up yet, as I was one of the first customers at Sunday morning at 9 am. Also need to say that a little portion of poached spinach tasted good. But then... well I can forgive not quite ready poached eggs, that did taste basically just raw( you can see on the picture how thin the egg white cover is) , I can forgive the barely thickened sauce hollandaise ( maybe the cook just did not want to make me wait and wanted to make it fast so it wasn't ready. By the way anyone who wants to try the truffled sauce hollandaise because you like truffles, don't, it tastes like old raw meat from the breakfast in the hotel which was kept in the fridge for too long. Hollandaise does not need truffles, but that was my choice mistake, not theirs. I can even forgive the cup of transparent coffee which tastes like a dirty water( I've sinned with coffee alot, I even do the instant coffee sometimes, I have to admit.) I can even forgive not clean tables on Sunday morning, as after Satturday I can imagine some deviations. BUT what I cannot forgive is when 3 adults are trying to convince me that barely browned warm( not hot) water is exactly what I ordered by saying that I would like to have a big americano. I have to say that they took the coffee off the bill, but the experience of being told by three different people of the establishment, that you are not able to order a coffee ( not exact words of cause, I am simplifying) and getting warm slightly brownish water is...
Read moreTitle: Extremely Disappointing Experience at "Gostinla Vida"
I recently visited "Gostinla Vida" with a group of friends for brunch, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The main issue that overshadowed our visit was the abysmal service we received.
To begin with, one of our party members never received their ordered dish, despite waiting for an excruciating 90 minutes. This was an utterly unacceptable oversight that put a damper on the entire brunch. The lack of attention and care from the staff was disappointing and frustrating.
The food, when it finally arrived for those who were lucky enough to receive their orders, was average at best. The flavors were passable, but given the steep prices, we had expected a much more remarkable culinary experience. The overall cost-to-quality ratio was simply not justified.
On top of the disappointing food and beverage aspect, the service was lamentable. The staff displayed an arrogant attitude, as if they were doing us a favor by attending to our table. It was disheartening to be treated with such disrespect and lack of consideration, especially after the prolonged wait for our orders.
Taking into account the subpar food, the exorbitant prices, and the pitiful and arrogant service, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend "Gostinla Vida" to anyone. Our brunch experience was nothing short of a disappointment, and it is best to avoid this establishment altogether. There are plenty of other dining options that offer better value for money and more enjoyable...
