Not recommended. We ordered two mains and two sides. Of the dishes that arrived only one main was what we had ordered. Finally after pointing this out to the waiter we eventually got something which was closer to but still not the dish we had ordered, and also one of the sides. The food was average. Over salted. The „grilled vegetables“ was a dish of whst looked like microwaved frozen vegetables. Other guests seemed to be having similar experiences. One left with her food barely touched. For the quality the food was overpriced.
Communication was very difficult, and the waiter seemed very confused and uncertain. Admittedly we do not speak Slowenian but are fluent English and German speakers. I would have expected that a restaurant in the heart of the old town, ie the tourist centre would make efforts to find staff who could at least understand rudimentary“restaurant English“.
The ambient was basic.
A pity because the menu has some interesting things on it but unless and until we have got our B1 in Slowenien we will not be returning. There are better restaurants where staff are better trained and communication is not...
Read moreThe indoor area was infested with flies. Not just a few, but a full-blown insect convention. At that time there were no outdoor seats available—fine. We decided to order takeaway. 15 minutes later, outdoor seats opened up. I asked a male waiter and got permission to sit there. Yet suddenly, a woman stormed over, shouting at us to leave. When I calmly explained that I had already asked for permission, she cut me off and barked: “I’m the boss!” and kicked us out.
Look, I fully respect a business’s rules. But if the owner had shown her true colors before taking our money, we would’ve left and never come back. What a win-win that would’ve been 😊
And by the way, food was painfully average. Definitely not worth the street-shouting drama. They somehow managed to make fish and chips worse than in the UK—which, frankly, should be impossible.
P.S. Just genuinely curious—are takeaway customers not worthy of cutlery? Knives only for dine-in? Are we supposed to cut octopus with our bare hands or what? Again, would’ve been great to know in advance. It’s not like we have to eat...
Read moreThe inside of the restaurant was very hot, there wasn't even an air conditioner or anything else.
the food was a small portion intended for children but not for adults so we ate without feeling full (we are not greedy) but to say the quantity is very small given the price.
the waitress is very rude, she shouts at the customers all the time and speaks in a very loud voice without any respect and she acts on the poor chef that after I knew he is a foreigner (Arab). Quite a few customers fled the restaurant after seeing her behavior
I want to do same but I wanted fish so much 🐟 I decided to ignore her but in the end I regretted
So it is an restaurant/ fast food which had neither quantity nor quality nor service and in last we ask you for a tips.
*(responding to the owner I don't know you and I have no interest in lying I speak from my own experience to let others know what they will expect and to let you know your mistakes and correct them...
