NORMA 23 — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

Disappointed after big expectations! I reserved a table over the phone and the employee on the other side was rude . Probably the same that after served us. When we came, We didn't feel welcome and we waited for three plates (salad and crêpes) for 40 minutes, even tough I ordered one of the plates immediately telling them that the kid was starving. On the end we got them all together and cold. Because after they were done and kitchen ladies put them out, nobody cared to bring it to us immediately. So definitely not child friendly (no kids chairs, no toilet). Overall experience was negative mostly because of the bartender's attitude. He would ignore us for most of the time and his communication was just bad and treated us with disdain. The food was good but could be much better, with some little more care within preparing plates. Visited on Saturday morning for breakfast. Ordered eggs Benedict with ham and spinach and both were more like hard boiled eggs. The sauce was like mayonnaise, probably the store bought one and not freshly made. The waffle on the other hand was really good. As we are also coffee enthusiasts, it was average espresso you can get anywhere around - more on burned side, no latte art or anything worth mention. Some better quality tea would be nice as well. Wanted to try the crepes but changed our minds after the eggs. The service was nice but the place needs some more renovation, especially inside since winter time isn’t pleasant to sit outside where the nice view to the market and castle is. Definitely not going back...

Really disappointed with the whole experience, it was comically bad. Arrived and asked the waiter if the table was free or reserved, he said he'll check and let us know. We waited for 25 min, nobody came, despite gesturing the waiters a few times. They served people who came 15 min after us, before another waitress came and asked us what we want. We asked for the menu and when she came back with 1 menu for 5 people, she said we can't be there because the table is reseved (for somebody who wasn't there and it was 15 min after their reservation). We just decided to leave, since she didn't even try to explain herself or apologize. Then we went to EK and that made Norma 23 look even worse, since the experience at EK...
