We did a ton of research before traveling and found that many of the raving reviews for popular food spots didn't seem warranted. That was not the case here. We visited near closing time and the food was as fresh as if they had just opened. It was hearty but not heavy, seasoned but not overly salty, and the bread was toasty and fresh.
On our way home after 3 weeks of traveling in 6 countries, we did a bracket competition between everywhere we ate and after dozens of food experiences, perhaps the most affordable one, Klobasarna, came out on top. The sausage was fantastic as was the soup and dessert. The fresh horseradish and mustard converted my husband who generally doesn't like either. Both were better than versions we've gotten from specialty shops. The value is unmatched.
I want to note we ordered to go on the Wolt app because we didn't think we could get there in time to order in person and it was perfectly packaged, still warm, and the service was...
Read moreI find it disappointing that a place promoting itself as serving traditional Slovenian food, proudly showcasing the kranjska klobasa on its walls, menu, and other dishes, consistently refuses to speak Slovenian to me. If you value authentic local experiences where Slovenian food and culture are truly respected, including the language, I recommend choosing...

2 | An interesting detail is that the place is owned by a family who ran a watchmaking business on the same site for several generations. You can read their whole story on the wall next to the counter while you wait.
3 | A smaller portion (half a sausage) costs 5.50 euros, and the larger one is 9.50 euros. It comes with a brioche roll they bake themselves. They also offer a stew for 6.50 euros and a stew with sausage for 8.50 euros, which I didn’t try.
4 | The staff is kind and friendly, and you can pay by card.
5 | There’s one table inside the bistro, and you can also sit outside in front of the place or stand at...
