A Must-Visit for Craft Beer Lovers
If you love craft beer, this is the place for you.
We stumbled upon this bar as we were staying around the corner, and what a find! With 20 taps and an impressive selection of local craft brews in the fridge, there’s no shortage of great beer to explore. I sampled a few flights and, as a fan of strong beers, I was not disappointed. My favorites? The Saison Ba Moscatel Setúbal & Portuguese White Wine (10% ABV) and Virvatuli (Cellar Series - 13%)—bold, complex, and absolutely delicious (almost a meal in themselves). That said, the selection of IPAs was also excellent.
Location & Atmosphere
The pub is just 800 meters from the Three Bridges, making for an easy 10-minute stroll upstream. I visited in early February, and while it was cool (and not crowded), sitting outside by the river was really pleasant. I’m told its really popular in the warmer months.
Food
For a pub, the food selection is tasty. The empanadas were a particularly good pairing with the beers, and if you’re after something more substantial, the coconut curry is a great option (vegetable, chicken or prawns) —my vegetarian wife loved the vegetable curry (just the right amount of heat).
Service & Experience
The staff are passionate about craft beer and incredibly friendly. If I had one small piece of feedback, it would be that the music can sometimes feel a bit heavy, especially in the quieter afternoon hours when a more relaxed vibe might suit the setting better.
Final Verdict
If you appreciate quality craft beer, this place is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreThis was the first restaurant we tried in Slovenia. We arrived in Ljubljana, and it started raining immediately as we stepped outside. We tried to find a good local restaurant nearby and ended up here. And it was a great choice. The location is great, a charming setting by the Ljubljanica River. There is a huge terrace outside and seating inside. If you are a craft beer lover, you can choose from 16 different beers on tap, sourced from local and international microbreweries. The extensive menu also boasts around 130 bottled beers from around the globe. If beer isn't your preference, you can sample Slovenian wine from the Zgonik winery or BrinGin gin from Materija. The pub offers a diverse menu that changes seasonally. The pub offers a diverse menu that changes seasonally. They also provide a daily lunch menu and serve brunch on Sundays. Additionally, the pub hosts various beer-tasting events and live music performances. We ordered a couple of beers and food from their menu, which sounded like an Asian fusion - Yakitori, Fried potatoes, and Espenadas. It was very delicious and worth every penny. And because it was still raining when we finished the main course, we also ordered dessert. It's also worth every penny. This is the place to visit if you are looking for a nice sport with a local vibe. The only negative thing was the slow service. For two people, we paid 55.20€ for beers, food, and dessert.

Read moreLet me ask you this: do you honestly believe that Heineken and Budweiser are decent? You're in over your head if you do. Especially when you consider having a drink at Lajbah, period.
Prepare yourself for a real beer experience when you visit this pub. When you do, remember that this is not just another pub. They are in a league of their own. So, do not enter Lajbah just so that you can order a coke and bluntly ask for the Wi-Fi access code.
The merry helpers of Lajbah will convince you to change your mind about the two lemonades mentioned above. You'll even learn a few things about local and foreign brews because the people attending to your 'beer needs' have an encyclopedic knowledge of what they serve.
Well, don't take this Belgian's word for it. I was only raised with hops, chocolates, and waffles. Go, check it out for yourself and enjoy the stroll next to the river while...
