Too expensive and overall disappointing because they don't know what they are doing and it really feels like a tourist trap for natural wine lovers. We didn't know these exist but now we do.
Honestly, my husband and I are big natural wine buffs and had big expectations for Slovenia. We were passing through Ljubljana for two days on our way from Vienna to Gorizia and this was recommended as a must. We saw some really great bottles on the shelves when we looked around and our expectations were very high at that point.
Sadly, it failed to deliver on all fronts. Very few of the wines displayed, including some of our favorites, are also offered by the glass. Moreover, it seemed like the kids who were serving us didn't really care or know much about wine, which we found unusual. Usually, we go to Raisin-recommended places across the world and try to strike a conversation, sharing our drinking experience and sharing in our love for natural wine, but this was sadly not the place for us. Maybe we were just unlucky.
Prices are also too high (9,5 euros per glass!) so I guess this is why locals avoid it. Most guests were tourists, so it's not a hidden gem we expected by any means. We would have given it 3 stars if not for the steep prices. We didn't try the food because the menu seemed very confusing, like a have-it-all tourist trap with breakfast and dinner all in one – too much of everything. The location at the market is...
Read moreDear everyone!
We can just report a very warm welcome from the waiter (we arrived at 1.00pm today) and the time we spent there, the food we consumed, the music we listened and the atmosphere we enjoyed was ABSOLUTELY WORTH to come back!!! Which we did… the same day (today) we returned for a tasty dinner… fresh/delicious oysters, kids were dying for the tasty nachos and for the penne pasta!!! We kindly asked if “we’re allowed to come back again tomorrow” and YES, we got a table confirmed for tomorrow, which isn’t common at this crowded place at all! We’ll enjoy delicious & unforgettable dishes again 😋😋😋
To all of you out there, please keep in mind, even if we pay for the service & food we receive from places where we go, we get treated with the same value & level how we treat the people who serve us and cook for us! A smile and treating them friendly from the early beginning, when entering their place, doesn’t cost us any money at all so PLEASE EVERYONE OUT THERE see as well “the other side” and the better you treat them, the more amazing your personal experience will become in every place worldwide, wherever you go!!! That is what I learned & saw with my family each time when we entered a new place - a smile & friendly/respecting words can change everyone’s mind and grow a dish/meal to an incredible experience!!! And YES… our all dishes at this place were really good! THANK YOU & see you tomorrow for late...
Read moreTruly disappointed with our visit to this restaurant We ordered a glass of red wine, but it ended up being flavorless. We ordered a bottle of wine, but they were out of stock, so we ordered another one, out of stock again, so we had to settle for another one without any recommendations to accommodate us (A significant number of bottles were missing). We were expecting good wine in your restaurant as your name mentions it. Our meals were brought out while we were still enjoying the appetizer, which resulted in my partner receiving food that was cold. We asked for carafes of water two times, but instead, we got small bottles of water. Some places may not have carafes, which is fine, but as we finished our meal, we observed that other tables had them, and there was no effort to rectify the situation when we mentioned it.
In summary, it genuinely feels like we are viewed solely as sources of money, which is simply not acceptable.
The pumpkin raviolis & Flank Steak were delicious despite everything
