We decided to sit down for lunch after the Expo, immediately had to flag down a waiter, as NO ONE was around offering help to customers. Not even a manager.
When we eventually got a table sorted for us, the waiter asked us to be seated, and didn't wipe the table at all. A lonesome onion accompanied us while we patiently waited for the waiter to fly passed our table. Having noticed another table leaving, which was seated near a shady spot, we immediately ceased the opportunity to get the table. It took the waiter in excess of 10 minutes before the waiter came back to assist us.
We ordered our drinks, and waited some time before we got them. The waiter was so preoccupied in getting other customers sorted that he almost walked away with my glass for my drink. So, as a precaution for the lack of efficiency shown by this restaurant, we asked if we can order our food, to which we were told "hold on, I'll be back." The waiter then went to another table, which arrived after us, to take their food order.
We waited another 30 minutes to be asked by our waiter, "Have you got your food yet?", which clearly showed me that he wasn't even making the slightest effort to concentrate on one task at a time.
It is important to note that no manager has approached tables about the wait, not even asking customers how their experience is. Nothing.
Eventually our 2 pastas arrive, but we get told the pizza is still not ready.
It was at this point we asked them to make the pizza a takeaway and bring the bill. Even that took ages, as the waiter spent more time arguing with me about how he is trying his best, and it's just him.
To justify a R520 bill for food that appeared to have been sitting in the kitchen, and a pizza that was never served for sit down purposes, is disgusting.
This restaurant needs to reconsider their stance on customer service.
I do not recommend this place at all. You'll lose your appetite before you get your food, which completely takes away any hope of a good and...
Read moreI booked a table on the balcony several days in advance, only to be placed at one of the most uncomfortable tables imaginable. It was shoved into a corner — not exactly the balcony experience I’d reserved.
We waited fifteen minutes before I had to call someone over just to ask for menus. When they finally brought them, they handed us one menu for two people. Another twenty minutes passed, and still no one came to take even a drink order.
If we had walked in without a reservation, I might have understood being overlooked, but we booked ahead. That kind of disregard for paying customers is unacceptable.
After more than half an hour of being completely ignored, we decided to leave. The restaurant across the way seated us immediately, brought drinks within minutes, and actually checked on us. The difference in service was unbelievable.
To make matters worse, when we told the head waitress at the door about our experience, she simply shrugged it off as if it were nothing — no apology, no concern, just complete indifference.
Such a disappointing experience from start to finish. This place seriously needs to do better — a booking should...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience. Went there last night as a party of three. It was extremely quiet, maybe two or three other tables with people. We ordered very basic pizza’s and after 50 minutes, our food had still not arrived. No waiter or manager had come out during those 50 minutes to apologise for the wait (especially given how quiet it was). Eventually we had to look for someone to ask where our food was. When only 2/3 pizza’s came after an hour, the food was all ice cold. (As if it was made and left out) we got a manager, who didn’t seem entirely bothered by this and asked if we wanted a new pizza or to heat up the ones we were given. By the time we had left (without eating and sending the food back) the 3rd pizza still hadn’t even arrived. Shocking service, staff didn’t seem to care and likely left the pizza’s standing. Sitting there for an hour outside in the cold without so much as an apology for the wait or even an offer to move inside instead. Had they been extremely busy that night, perhaps I’d understand. But it was quiet and barely...
