Awful customer service. I buy the beans a lot, their specialty coffees are my staple and really really good. But, I've consistently had awful customer service, I have to drive an hour to get there to have a coffee experience. I asked the barista what they recommended, I want to try something interesting. The response was: "You know it's expensive right", not anything about what coffee pairs nicely with which brew method. I've now been told several times by the staff how expensive the coffee is. If it's so expensive that customers are consistently surprised, them maybe display the damn price.
Another time I asked to have the pour over, and the response was: "are you sure? It's expensive."
I've taken friends to get coffee several times and they've commented on the customer service being poor and not wanted to go back.
I've heard the service is better during the week, but as I have to drive an hour, I mostly go on the weekend.
Today, the bill was messed up, and instead of being helpful, the dude looked at me and said "my guy" repeatedly.
When 250g of coffee costs R500, the customer service better be good. Father coffee looks to be riding on the quality of the coffee and not it's bad attitude baristas.
To be clear, I've not complained, it raised my voice, and I've not asked to see the manager, but today was...
Read moreI had the worst experience at Father coffee last Thursday, my colleague and I were there to work, I took some drinks from the fridge to pay, but there were two people before me, I stood in the que when the person before me was being assisted, it seemed to take forever I had already been waiting for 15min all three staff members are just standing around and not communicating the issue or offering to let me know when I can come to the front and have a seat so long, nothing. At that point they all saw I was carrying the cash to pay in my hand, after feeling frustrated I set down and waited for them to finish, this is now 20min later. I walk up to pat for my drinks the lady says they don't take cash with an attitude, my colleague and I decide to go else where as the service was absolutely terrible. As we take our stuff and walk out the lady by the till tells me to put the drinks back in the fridge as they stand around doing nothing. We have held many meetings at Father Coffee and this is the first time I experienced such bad service. I work in customer service myself so to receive such service I know for a fact is...
Read moreWhenever I come to JHB for work trips this place is my first port of call . Perfect place for freelancers to hang out and get some work done, excellent food + coffee (like seriously amazing), excellent service, good wifi and it's also just nice to be surrounded by other creatives on the grind. Only point of feedback would be to get more plug points/ plug points that are built into the walls and not situated directly under the chairs because it makes it a mission to plug you devices in. That being said, it's quite entertaining watching the trendy, image-conscious hipsters squat down and rummage around for plug points....Actually, keep the plug points as they are.
Would also be super cool if they organised networking events for local creatives/freelancers because they seem to constitute the majority of Father Coffee's clientele.
Good place. 10/10...
