My Diners Rosebank - Overall experience

Setup and wait time : My Diners get quite busy, if you intend going as a group it is important you make a booking beforehand. Ample seating available but fills out pretty quick. Professional and strict with reservations so if you do not book do not be disappointed if you are turned away. Great ambience and setup. Clean and really well maintained. They take pride in keeping it modern

Service : Served by Evelyn, polite and very patient. Answered all our questions and did not make any mistakes on the order. Management are all eyes too and make sure everyone are fine. They value service and listen to their customers

Food : They have a really extensive menu and it may be overwhelming choosing as there are so many options and combinations. If you want to try a bit of everything a combo may be best for you. For starters I ordered Cheese Potato Naan and Samosas. The Portion were generous and the naan was phenomenal (enough to serve 3-4 people easily) it is the size of a large pizza (still tasted good the next day :). For mains we ordered the chicken chowmein, a combo which consisted of King clip, Prawns, 1/4 chicken and chips. The chowmein was decent a portion that could serve 2 people, if you feeling adventurous then this may be a bit basic, good for those that do not like spicy food. The combo was well plated and the portions were great. I opted for Lemon butter on the King Clip and Masala prawns. The King clip had a generous helping of Lemon Butter sauce and was well cooked, tasty with every bite. The prawns I expected them to be dry masala however it was pretty much a prawn curry (not a bad thing if you up for saucy prawns that you can enjoy with your naan). The prawns were large but the sauce overwhelmed them and they were quite soft. Would love to know if they have a dry masala or option that does not have sauce for future purposes. The chicken, surprisingly my favorite item of this combo. Tikka style chicken but cooked to perfection, spiced really well and tasty to the bone (probably one of the best tikka chickens around) I like the fact that it was not overdone with masala yet tasted so good! I loved the fries too, it was spiced really well and was super fresh

Desert : They have a few options on the menu and we opted for the double chocolate cake slice to share as we were quite full already. I was expecting a standard chocolate cake slice and was impressed when they brought out one of the prettiest looking cakes I have seen in a long time. It was beautifully plated and the side of ice cream with sprinkles was a great touch. It was not large but the quality was amazing, the texture was rich and the flavor was really on point. The portion was enough for my partner and I and really satisfying. Highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth!

Drinks : They have a great selection of drinks, I was not feeling too adventurous so I settled for a coke only and my partner the chai tea (Chai tea was great but perhaps would be best served without the teabag in the cup, cardamom and cinnamon sticks still in it for a person to take out with a spoon)

My Diners is a great place overall, amazing portions to share, good service and a lovely environment for a family, corporate or couples night out.

The service at MY Diners is nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to our wonderful waitress, CINDY. Her attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm made our dining experience memorable. Cindy's helpfulness and her kind and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. Cindy consistently ensured that all our needs were taken care of. The entire staff demonstrated professionalism and a dedication to ensuring our overseas guests felt welcomed and well taken care of. We celebrated a birthday and was treated to a wonderful surprise in true South African style with the song and dance and complimentary dessert.

MY Diners at Rosebank Mall is a gem that stands out not only for its delectable cuisine but also for the overall experience it offers. Located in the food court at Rosebank Mall, it makes it a conveninent location with plentiful seating as well as the prayer area in the restaurant which we were super grateful for making it easier for anyone wanting to pray without leaving their meal.

Absolute Chaos, Appalling Hygiene, and Pathetic Service: A Zero-Star Experience Restaurant: My Diner's Rosebank Rating: ⭐️ (Wish I could give zero) My recent family dinner for 30 people at My Diner's Rosebank was not just disappointing—it was genuinely horrific and, frankly, a public health concern. As a restaurant located in Rosebank, one expects a certain level of class and cleanliness; what we received was a rude awakening into a total disaster. The hygiene standards here are, without exaggeration, the worst I have ever encountered. The entire environment felt less like a restaurant and more like an unmanaged shebeen. The toilets and washbasins were unhygienic and appalling. The dining experience itself was a mess: tables were small and cluttered, and the cutlery and crockery were below zero in quality and presentation. The service was pathetic from start to finish. Food was delivered with zero etiquette—it felt like we were being served "like dogs." Plates arrived with food dripping over the sides, and my Pina Colada was quite literally thrown at me in a leaky glass. Water was spilled across the tables, contributing to the overall chaotic and sloppy atmosphere. We could barely hear the waiters or place orders due to the excessively loud music, leading to total chaos that the managers seemed unable to facilitate or manage. I deeply regret not taking pictures to document this nightmare. Tragically, due to the unsanitary conditions and poor presentation, all the food we ordered had to go to waste. This was not worth the money, the effort, or the health risk. I would never advise anyone to go here. In not a million years would I return. Avoid at all costs.
