Downt Espresso — Restaurant in Seoul

Minimalist cafe with zen Japanese aesthetics - conveniently located near many hostel and accommodation options (a must-visit for coffee lovers if you are staying nearby!), and just a few minutes walk from Myeongdong Station Exits 1, 2, and 3.

Space & seating are limited and intimate; I got the chance to chat and get to know fellow travellers from different parts of the world during most of my visits to this cafe. The pricing is great - with latte priced at just 5,000 KRW (and comes with great body - the kind that I love - and a very subtle cinnamon-like hint of sweetness in its nutty taste note!).

The only details customers should note are the facts that the place can fill up rather quickly if everyone comes at the same time (so do make way for new customers if needed), and that he is running the whole cafe alone (so please be patient and do collect your drinks from the counter yourself if he is too busy to serve you 🥹). Apart from that, the owner is very passionate and friendly, and small artisan cafes (run by an owner this young and with a caliber of this quality) like his is not each to come by - whether in Seoul or back in Penang, Malaysia.

Will definitely include this place into my travelogue once I return home and start writing about my trip in Korea - and would definitely make this area as my choice location to lodge in should I ever return again to this country (just so I can come back to this cafe again...

Absolutely wowed! As a serious coffee connoisseur, I can honestly say this is some of the best coffee I’ve had anywhere in the world. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and it was incredibly creamy, subtly sweet, and just all-around dreamy. It’s a great place to quick grab for a coffee before you walk up to Namsan tower!😍✨ Coffee is nice, price is reasonable, shop decor and interior design is really nice with minimalist wooden design that is comfortable!👍🏼🤎
