EGGDROP — Restaurant in Seoul

Was here last Sat at around 3.30pm. Despite only having 2 physical orders (and they were only 1 sandwich respectively) before mine and my friend's. We waited an unacceptable 45 minutes for our orders. And this was after my friend went to ask/remind about our orders and got an annoyed look from the staff in return. There were only 2 staff working at this tiny shop but there was a lot of delivery orders which they clearly prioritised, could not cope and ignore the physical customers that were waiting and standing around. This branch need to review their SOP when they are located at Hongdae which has a lot of human traffic. This visit was disappointing as I love Eggdrop when I first tried it back in 2019. I topped up for the garlic bread and barely could taste the garlic. I don't know if the service and standard at other branches are better. But I will avoid this branch...

Decided to give this place a try after all the hype it received on social media. I went at around 9.30am and queued for about 10 mins before being able to order.

The store itself is actually quite cramped, with only two tables inside and the open-window kitchen right behind the seating area. Outside, there's a self-ordering kiosk.

I ordered the Avocado Bacon Toast to share. The sandwich itself was smaller than I expected compared to the pictures, but overall, it was not bad. However, personally, I felt that this place was a little overhyped. The sandwich wasn't bad by any means, but the ingredients in the sandwich were a little lacking and just messily thrown together. The bread was good, though.

It might have just been that I ordered the wrong item, but all in all, for the price, I'd say it's at least worth a try if you're looking for an elevated version of korean...

✨Garlic Bacon & Cheese @ ₩5,400 Fluffy and silky scrambled egg, bacon and cheese sandwiched between two soft and buttery buns, topped with a savoury white sauce. Topped up an additional ₩5,100 to make it a meal, which included a hashbrown and matcha latte. Hashbrown was topped with the same white sauce and bacon bits, both of which did not add much to the overall flavour. The latte was smooth with an aromatic matcha flavour.

Avo Holic @ ₩5,400 Filled with egg, avocado, cheese and cabbage sandwiched between buttery buns, topped with a mildly spicy red sauce. The cabbage was too dry and the egg wasn’t as fluffy as the first. I recommend opting for those without cabbage as it takes away from the entire sandwich.
