Hello India: Hongdae — Restaurant in Seoul

Went inside at I saw the lunch set offer. After sitting down I was told the lunch set is only on weekdays and was given a choice of another set menu which was double the price. When the food arrived I couldn't believe the portion sizes and I was given a mini can of coke. I was given two curries, one veg (sweetcorn and peas) & the other was supposed to be s chicken curry (buy there was only sauce and no chicken). I told the guy that there was no chicken in the chicken curry and he said that would get impossible and basically told me I was lying. I was so dossapointed in the service and quality of the the food given to me that I left the restaurant without finishing my food. We (myself, my husband and teenage son) were craving Indian food tonight (specifically Northern) and this charming restaurant delivered far beyond our expectations!!!! It was fantastic….

From the moment we walked up the staircase and entered this restaurant we were greeted by a smiling young man who served us with a warm kind smile all night. The entire staff including the charismatic Punjabi owner were very welcoming and kind.

We noticed all the guests in the restaurant were having a great time enjoying their food in a cozy atmosphere. And when we got our meals we were really blown away. The food was good,clean, honest and delicious.

If we lived here in Seoul…. this would be a regular go to for us. And being from Vancouver we know our Indian food....

After two weeks of only Korean food, we were dying for some truly spicy desi food and we found this place in Hongdae. We got the two person meal and it was more than enough for two hungry travellers. The owner/manager was very kind and let us get garlic naan instead of the regular naan with the thali, and checked to make sure we were okay with the spicy curry we'd ordered. We were more than okay because we were CRAVING some spice and it definitely delivered. The food was tasty, portions were just right, and the lassi was thick and filling without being overly sweet. Service was great as well! So happy we found this place, it was just what we needed to keep us going...
