Woo Mool Zip Hongdae — Restaurant in Seoul

Amazing decoration and entrance. You feel like you’re transported to another place right from the entrance. Although the space is small, the spaces are well-decorated and very picturesque.

The staff seated us right away even though we had no reservation and it was a Saturday night. Each table has their own separate spaces so there is some privacy but noise from other tables is still present, especially if there are loud parties (and we were sandwiched between obnoxiously loud people).

The table is very scenic but there were some cleanliness issues. There was kimchi and garlic underneath the table from a previous party. Because of the greenery in the table decor, there are bugs present and we saw multiple spiders and mosquitos right next to our food.

We had 8p resos- we arrived and they didn't tell us that la st call was 8:20p. They notified us at 8:15p kitchen is clos ing in 5 mins. We were waiting for 2 more in party to arriv e. We quickly ordered. At 8:20- the ordering kiosk shut down and we couldn't or der drinks. We even asked the server if we could order a couple more drinks, he said no. We asked him to ask mgmt- he never returned. When they server our food- they dropped off the food an d just left. Did not check up on us at all. The food quality was ok. The vegetables were not fresh. 3/5 of us were bitten by flies/gbats or insects- not sure... I myself got 9 bites on one arm. My friend sitting opposite of me got 8. Another girl got 5. We were sitting right belo w the hvac which was blowing on us. Place felt dirty afte r! We guickly left without finishing all the food. Disappoin ted. When we left- they did not say goodbye...

Managed to get a walk in seat with wife to this popular rice hot pot and soup / beef brisket restaurant at Hongdae. The entrance and dining areas were beautifully decorated like gardens with individual partitioned rooms for every dining group. However it will be noisy with crowd as there are no closed partitions. Selected vegetable hot pot with braken pot rice - soup tasted delicious with sweetness of vegetable and beef. Also tried the tomato hot pot with basil tomato pot rice - stronger in taste with thick tomato flavour plus tinge of mala spice. Accompany the meal with a sweet cold pumpkin shikhye.
