Insadong Geujip — Restaurant in Seoul

This place is overrated! Food is expensive compared to other places nearby. Service is terrible! Wait staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. We feel like we are being rushed to get out. We are a family of four and I didn’t order food as Im not feeling well, the lady waitress laughed and said we have to order 4 meals, she was very judgmental with her look and smirked. When the food arrived she was very forceful on how to eat our food! We’ve never experienced worst service in Korea other than this place! Everywhere we went people were friendly and welcoming. There are other better places to go other than this place. I had high hopes about this place as it has high reviews here but was a let down.

PS, my husband speaks and read Korean but still didn’t help us. After we paid my husband spoke to them in Korean about our not so nice dining experience and the lady wasn’t acknowledging him. I cant imagine what it would be like for tourist who couldn’t...

Stumbled across this place and it was a true blessing. Thankfully they have English menus and the staff speaks a little English, and welcoming and friendly which I can honestly say on my week holiday here is a rarity.

The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I went with the Chulpan beoseokbulgogi samjungsik, which is the beef bulgogi set. And it did not disappoint; so much variety, colour and deliciousness in one cheap package (13000). The complimentary house tea was so warm and delicious I didn’t bother buying a drink.

Great food, good for solo lunch, great location and nice staff.

Based on reviews of other restaurants in the area, probably not the best for tourists who need a lot of support. Staff was friendly, service was quick, but they assume you can figure out where the utensils are etc and will summon them if you need something.

Really good bulgolgi with banchan and a 750 ml bottle of decent rice wine was 21,000 won, which is very affordable. If you're used to US prices, $8 for a drink feels like a serving - if you aren't used to drinking probably don't finish the bottle alone unless your done...
