Love this little gem! Only saw locals here so assume it’s gota be good! We were looking to visit a ginseng chicken place as not ticked that off our list and decided the come try this place whilst we were in the area.
Got a little confused as there is no shop front to this restaurant. It’s entrance is on the 1st via a small stairway. (See pics)
Once inside, we were greeted warmly by one of the staff members and given an English menu. Even one that explained what each plate was to be used for in case you were not familiar.
They only specialise in 4 different ginseng whole chicken rice dishes and 2 additional dishes which were half the size containing only half a chicken if you were not too hungry. We opted for number 2 Bangaetang and number 4 Yak-Bangaetang as these were the only half chicken dishes.
Didn’t wait long until they were served and man, were they good. The soup felt so so wholesome and healthy but at the same time, super flavoursome and tasty! Number 2 was a little clouded and milky looking, very smooth to drink. Number 4 has a bit more of a stronger taste, in a good way! Both very different to each other yet both very enjoyable! We couldn’t finish our rice as wanted to drink every single drop of the amazing soup! :)
Our meals came with two types of kimchi (typical one and radish) as well as raw preserved garlics. A small shot of ginseng soju was served on the side.
This restaurant only has 15 tables so I can imagine it can be quite busy during peak times. We came quite late on a sat night at 8.20pm just before last order at 8.30pm with restaurant closing at 9pm.
The service was polite and very welcoming. Would highly recommend visiting and would love to return to try the...

This restaurant must have a deep love from the community. Stepping in during lunch reveals a packed space, with customers constantly rotating out. Staff will graciously guide in Korean, Chinese, or English as needed. If you are a confused tourist like I am, even the guests will lend a helping voice.
There are only a few choices, all variations on their best. If you are unsure, simply pick their first option.
Samgyetang should be a familiar dish to any chicken soup fan. Soft meat swims in a deeply flavored broth, and the glutinous rice ties the stew together. It’s seasoned just enough to let you add side dishes to your liking.
Hope whoever reads this enjoys it as...
Read moreThis is one of my bes samgyetang experiences! The restaurant is patronized by locals, so this speaks a lot. The owner and her daughter are super hospitable, and I had a great meal in their restaurant.
I would recommend anyone visiting Inkseondong to check out this place, it is truly a gem. Do look out for the signboard and it is located on second floor. It takes a short walk from...
