I felt compelled to write a review since all the reviews here are either one star or five. We ended up trying this place because the restaurants we scouted out were packed. We spotted the word “halal” and figured we’d give it a shot. I didn’t read the reviews until sitting at the table, but they made me fearful I’d made a terrible decision.
It turned out ok. It wasn’t the best Indian food I’ve ever had nor was it the worst. I’d place it at slightly above average. It had flavor and spiciness, but not too spicy. I didn’t think it was too watery as others claim. It looked like normal curry to me and once you pour it over the rice, it absorbs all the liquid anyway. Another reviewer said it looked greasy, but that is a result of the full fat coconut milk used in most curry dishes. The curry we get in the US is similar and as mentioned above, once you pour it over rice, it’s not noticeable.
The bread was more roti like and it had good flavor but it was small. Not nearly big enough to eat with the portion of curry. It also did not absorb the curry and therefore made it hard to use as a scoop.
Last is the portion sizes. As someone from the US where portion sizes can be very generous, I’d say this place had just the right amount of food to fill you up without leaving you bloated. We could’ve had more, but what we got was enough.
I do agree with other reviewers about the price to portion size. If you compare what you get for your money at other places to eat around Seoul, this place is overpriced. It came to about 50,000 won, which was surprising when compared to what we got (1 lamb curry, 1 chicken curry, 2 pieces of bread, and one side of rice).
The lady who served us was very nice and spoke English. The menu is also translated in English. The other person who worked there was kind as well, he opened the door for us as we left...
Read moreLovely place. Me and my friend ordered the chicken masala and the chicken fried rice. We spent a total of 48,500 Korean won which is £25.97 GBP, the place is decorated beautifully and caters to Muslims who eat halal food. The service is amazing and staff are lovely. They gave us side dishes for free which included yogurt, a small bowl of masala, achaar (pickle), mango chutney, two other chilli dips and black pepper. We were seated and they provided us with sanitary cloths to wipe and clean our hands upon arrival. Overall as a Pakistani it really satisfied me to find a restaurant that has my home cuisine and caters to me as a Muslim. The food was cooked to perfection not too spicy but also packed with flavour. They provide paratha (bread) or rice with curries and I ordered paratha with my masala chicken curry. They also played a lot of classic Bollywood/ Indian songs. For the price, food, atmosphere and service I would definitely be...
Read more'Curry' was watery and greasy, and simply not curry. It was more like old salsa with poor quality pieces of meat inside.
The butter chicken looked like it was poured from a can of dog food.
The dishes were dirty with pieces of old food on the bottom.
The 'bread' was greasy and starchy pajeon cooked on a frying pan. It was absolutely not naan bread. One small piece of this inedible greasy 'bread' was served with one dish. It's so greasy you need napkins for it but they only provide one small paper napkin with your meal.
Our food looked nothing like in the photos. It would be a mistake to call it Indian food. Do not waste your money here.
My only regret, aside from eating here, was not taking...
