A Gastronomic Adventure Through Wonderland
Ah, my fellow foodies, join me as I recount the epicurean odyssey that unfolded within the hallowed walls of El Gomero. Here, your taste buds shall embark on a journey like no other, traversing the peaks of simplicity and the valleys of culinary calamity.
Our appetites were piqued with prawns in garlic oil that tantalized our senses with a unique symphony of blandness. The prawns, defying all expectations, seemed to have forgotten their purpose, leaving us with a lingering sense of melancholy for our wallets.
But worry not, for the pièce de résistance was yet to come – pasta, a dish so universally adored that it's nearly impossible to botch. Yet, the chef of El Gomero proved us wrong. One portion was served with a touch of culinary genius – ketchup! It was a stunning, avant-garde blend of overcooked cheap quality pasta and an iconic condiment that left us wondering if this was, in fact, a secret Michelin experiment.
The other pasta dish was a masterpiece of inedibility. It was as if the chef had reached into the abyss of culinary nightmares and pulled out a creation so removed from the concept of deliciousness that it left us in awe of its awfulness.
Both of those masterpieces were so amazing that we left them entirely for better mouths.
But fear not, for there were indeed a few shining beacons of hope amidst this gastronomic wasteland. The bread and water – ah, the exquisite simplicity! They stood tall as symbols of purity and sustenance, comforting us like old friends in our time of need.
While savoring our starters, we were delighted by the attentive service of the waitstaff, who circled our table like a flock of concerned vultures, ready to swoop in and whisk away our plates at a moment's notice. Their diligence in ensuring that no morsel lingered too long on our table was truly a sight to behold.
In conclusion, if your heart desires an unforgettable dining experience featuring prawns with a penchant for forgetfulness, pasta dishes that challenge the very essence of palatability, and the reassuring simplicity of bread and water, then El Gomero is the perfect destination for you. Add to that the attentive, ever-vigilant waitstaff, and you have an evening that will live on in your memory – and perhaps your taste buds – for...
Read moreI went here with my girlfriend and this is definately the best place we have went to so far.
We ordered garlic prawns and melon with ham for starters and really wanted to take the oil the prawn were cooked in with us home, it was so delicious!
For our main we chose the paella with fish (paella di pesce del gomero buonissima), we barely finished 2/3 of the dish but wanted to continue.
When we asked for the check we were offered to take the rest of the paella with us and they packaged it for us. We were so happy to have another delicious meal prepaired for lunch the next day (it was still just as great).
The service is genuine and if you want a good experience come here. It is louder than you would expect but i think that adds to the genuine experience of a great restaurant in Tenerife.
This is one of the few places i...
Read moreJust eaten in El Gomero, the wife and I shared the Roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes, mixed veg with mint sauce and Gravy. The lamb was superb, presented on the bone and carved at the table it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes and veg was also excellent the accompanying Gravy and mint sauce was also good, but the Gravy was only a very small amount. However a request for more to the waiter was soon addressed. The quantity of lamb was too much for us to manage but the waiter asked us if we wanted to take what was left away with us. Which we did. The meal half a bottle of wine plus a lemonade cost €43:30...bargain, all other meals also looked very good, especially some of the fish dishes we saw, we will return in November,...
