This is a bit of a strange one after seeing all the great reviews.
First impressions were very poor. There were 2 tables in use in the restaurant, 3 servers working, and not one came over to me while I was waiting at the entrance for 5 mins. They saw me, spoke amongst themselves, and eventually beckoned to me, ask what I wanted - a takeaway sushi. The waiter was incredibly dismissive when I told him what I wanted. It was just a standard platter, no modifications or anything, but the reaction I got was very odd and stand-offish. I ordered and paid via card. The machine promoted me to pay in EUR or US Dollar. My card is irish, so it is in EUR. I asked the waiter why it was asking me to pay in USD or EUR, and he shrugged and said the machine was asking? Dodgey. Takeaway Sushi itself was tasty, no doubt, platter for 1, costing 21.95EUR. However, service is non-existent, and between that and the dodgy card machine, I wouldn't bother visiting. There are plenty of other nicer sushi places in...
Read moreJust visited here with my partner and we were both astounded as to how it wasn’t super busy. Everything was absolutely incredible.
We had the gyoza, tempura king prawns, peking duck pancakes, crispy chilli chicken and crunch sushi roll (yes we were absolutely stuffed afterwards!) - there wasn’t one thing that we wouldn’t recommend. The quality, taste and freshness were all 5 star - plus the portion sizes for the sushi/starters etc were big. We’re both absolutely gutted this place isn’t in England where we could visit regularly!
It’s just up a side street from the top of Veronica’s strip and is lovely inside. Fairy lights, lots of plants and a few Japanese style tapestries. The service was also wonderful. We didn’t get our server’s name but she was so friendly, attentive and welcoming.
Highly recommend this place. It has a lot of options if you’re not into sushi so good for a group of mixed tastes. If you have the opportunity, just go! You...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVED this place. Do not be put off by how quiet it is as that is sadly only because of its location. If this place was on the strip it was be so busy and so well deserved. I have coeliac disease which means I’m gluten free so I was impressed by the choices. My partner (not gluten free) and I had a hotpot to share and also a 16 piece sushi. Both were honestly incredible and we have high food standards so we were so happy. We had a lovely conversation with the owner who we asked if it was family run and she explained about what each of her family members roles were in the restaurant. She is adorable and so is her family and it’s gutting how quiet this place is as it really deserves so much more recognition. If you’re thinking of...
