Judgemental staff😑

Firstly, I am Indian woman and my whole family including my parents still at this moment live in India. So this is in no way a racist review!!!!!

I am living by myself in Tenerife as I only moved here few months ago. Working for a spanish company so havent made many friends as I am still learning spanish. Just fancied eating out tonight as it was my birthday so chose this restaurant.

I walked in and asked for a table of 1. First comment I get from a waiter was - WHAT? Table for 1? Alone? Why? Does nobody love you?

I mean what….*?

They could see I am Indian. But I am really not sure what they were assuming by making this comment. I have been living on and off from India for last 6 years but my parents still live in India and I AM INDIAN!!! Would they not rather try to just be friendly and accommodating rather than judging me for eating on my own??

BY THE WAY I AM MARRIED BUT MY HUSBAND IS BACK IN HOME COUNTRY TO SORT OUT BUSINESS STUFF. REGARDLESS IT IS NONE OF THE WAIT STAFF BUSINESS. THEY ARE HERE TO SERVE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT AND WE ARE PAYING TO EAT HERE. STOP JUDGING!

I have always lived an independent lifestyle in NEW YORK CITY as a woman and never had this comments said to me. It is just frustrating when woman are trying so hard to be independent (especially in India) and have a life for themselves without being dependent on anyone but men like these are the reason Indian woman mever speak up for themselves.

I am a digital marketing expert hired by a company in Tenerife and only moved here a month ago. I can safely say (without naming) I would never promote a place with such staff and nor would recommend anyone eating here.

Plenty of other Indian restaurants in Los cristianos, Las Américas to eat which serve exactly similar tasty food...

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred during my recent visit to your restaurant.

On 20-09-2023, my friends, family and I visited your establishment with great excitement and hunger, looking forward to enjoying a meal together.

Our evening took an unexpected turn when we placed our order before 10:30 PM, with the intention of having our food delivered to the nearby pub. To my dismay, while everyone at the pub received their orders promptly, we were the exception. The manager on duty not only declined our request but also responded in a confrontational manner.

This incident has left me feeling not only angry but also deeply disheartened. I cannot help but attribute this unfortunate experience to my racial background, as we were the only group singled out for such treatment while all other patrons, who happened to be of a different ethnicity, were served without any issues at the pub next door.

Such discriminatory behavior is entirely unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality, respect, and fairness that should be upheld by any reputable establishment. It is important to emphasize that your restaurant should provide service without any bias or prejudice based on race or ethnicity. I believe in the importance of fostering a welcoming and inclusive...

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times whilst on previous holidays over the last couple of years.

The food is excellent from the choices in the menu, to the quality and flavour it is faultless. Within our party there was some people who aren’t particularly a fan of Indian food however they still had a good variety of options due to other cuisine dishes being available such as various noodle dishes.

The only reason I have rated this as 4* instead of 5* is due to the service from the staff was quite disappointing. They were miserable, we had got around half way through the meal and were looking to order some more drinks which nobody came and asked. They seemed to be all gathered in one area of the restaurant chatting. In the end I had to go over and ask them.

From taking the order to paying the bill at the end they didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. Nobody ever asked if the food was ok at any point either.

It was very surprising as from previous visits everything has been exceptional however this time it was different.

I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an indian restaurant in Tenerife. On my next visit I would definitely give it another go due to the very positive experience on my...

I recently tried this spot in Costa Adeje, Tenerife called Bombay Babu. It was the last of my three restaurant adventures in the past four days. Went for the takeaway route and got a spread with lamb biryani, lamb Karachi, hot wings, and garlic naans. Let me tell you, Bombay Babu knows how to hit the spot! The food was good, like really good – tasty and had that kick of spice just at the right level. The biryani, though not exactly like the Hyderabadi one, was still pretty darn good. For someone like me, missing the taste of Indian food, this place was a winner. It's got this unique charm that makes you feel like you're back home, enjoying some proper spicy goodness. If you're around Costa Adeje and craving Indian flavors, Bombay Babu is worth checking out. They've got something special going on with their menu, bridging the taste gap in the best way. Thumbs up for bringing a slice of India to Tenerife!

Here’s a polished review for your experience: I had the pleasure of dining at bombai babu, and I must say it was an exceptional experience! The Chicken Tikka Masala was absolutely delightful – perfectly spiced, rich, and bursting with flavor. The portion was generous, and it was served with such care and attention to detail. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Kahari has truly set the standard for great dining with its amazing food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. I can’t wait to visit again and explore more of their menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic and delicious cuisine! Would you like me to tweak it further or add specific details?

We really enjoyed our meal here at the Bombay Babu, we shared vegetable pakora which was very different to how we normally get it in Scotland, but was really tasty, we also got the chicken Tikka Rogan Josh with Pilau rice and plain nan we shared this meal and was really tasty and fresh. I would say we did order the vegetable pakora and did point to it on the menu whilst ordering as my Scottish accent can be a language barrier sometimes but the staff tried to give us Vegetable Samosas and I had to refuse as that wasn't what I ordered and I'm not keen on samosas if it was something else that I may have liked I would have considered just accepting it but since I'm not keen on Samosas and I had ordered the Vegetable pakora I had to refuse and they did provide me with the pakora which as I say above I'm glad I waited on it.
