Pekin Garden I — Restaurant in Adeje

On Holiday and Came here with the family and enjoyed a superb meal. We had Spring Rolls, Salt and Pepper Ribs and the BBQ ribs to start. All three were delicious and the flavours were incredible. The BBQ (Capital) Sauce was a real treat, it was home made and is probably the tastiest I have ever had and the flavours of the Salt and Pepper ribs were just as good. The Spring rolls were crispy and not greasy and packed full of vegetables and were delightful. For mains we shared the Lemon Chicken, Beef and Green Pepper in Black Bean Sauce and the Crispy Chilly Beef, again I have to say the Sauces were of a very good quality and not a thick goo made from Sugar and flavourings as can often be the case, all the meat was soft and succulent and fresh with great portions sizes and the rice was also great. I am shocked that some reviews think it's microwaved, microwave rice goes congealed and mushy and this was nothing like that. The prices were not too expensive and we were all stuffed with food left over. The service we received was attentive and they waited a reasonable amount of time before serving the mains after the starters and we didn't feel rushed in any way. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant if your looking for good tasty Chinese food in a nice setting overlooking the bay. Thank you Pekin Garden, it's just a shame we didn't find this place earlier in our holiday as we would definitely have eaten here...

I’ve made some questionable life choices —but walking into this so-called “Chinese restaurant” in Tenerife tops the list.

The rice? 100% microwave ready-meal. I could hear it being zapped into radioactive sadness. It arrived looking like it had been scraped off the bottom of a student’s freezer meal and tasted like despair mixed with cheap soy sauce and regret.

Now, I’ve eaten bad food before. Tenerife isn’t exactly the epicentre of Michelin stars. But this? This was the Olympics of awful. Truly impressive how a place can cook absolutely everything wrong.

What really blows my mind is the positive Google reviews. Who are these people?! Are they real? Have they tasted food before? I can only assume they’re the kind of folks who think a Pot Noodle is “authentic Asian cuisine” and consider Iceland frozen spring rolls a delicacy.

I got the Sweet & Sour chicken & the egg fried rice. The chicken was lovely, although there was about 3 times as many vegetables as there was chicken but cest la vie. The rice was a little disappointing, i have a feeling it was microwaved. I think for the price i paid slightly underwhelming but it wasn’t extortionate. The staff were nice but i had only been sat down for about 30 seconds when i was asked what i wanted to order - i had only read through part of the drinks menu at this point. Not necessarily an issue but in my mind i felt very rushed. Thankfully i was by myself & it didnt take me long to decide what to get but like i said - felt like they were rushing me a little to order. give a person some time to actually...
