After submitting this review, I was unexpectedly confronted by both my review and my CCTV footage. Two days later, I was discovered by the owner and subjected to aggressive harassment and questioning regarding my review. As an industry professional, I find it disheartening that such severe measures are taken for a neutral to negative review. This response demonstrates a lack of tolerance for criticism, except for positive feedback. The owner’s replies to any negative criticism are indicative of this attitude.

Original review.

Since our arrival on Tenerife, we have consistently attended scallywags every evening, and it has been an exceptional experience for families. Regrettably, this year’s lineup has undergone significant alterations. Scallywags was once renowned for its three exceptional acts, but this year, only two acts have been retained. Furthermore, the act preceding the main two has been replaced with a subpar magic act, children’s karaoke, a snake show that was disappointing, and yet another football tricks act, which was equally unsatisfactory.

On three separate occasions, we were served one drink, and we have since refrained from returning. This decision has resulted in substantial financial losses for the ten nights we spent at scallywags. Upon speaking with at least six other families, I discovered that they shared our negative experiences and have since opted to enjoy an evening at an alternative venue.

Also adding as Neil said in another review that waiting for your change is a long time so be aware of this also from the response how did you know from the cctv who the reviewer was?

Anyway.

It is worth noting that the entire staff has been replaced, deviating from the original, friendly team. For instance, the bartender made my drink incorrect on two of the three occasions I had there.

Despite these issues, we intend to return to Tenerife next year. During our visit, we will order one drink to ascertain whether the situation has improved. However, if not, we will consider patronising other establishments to ensure that our hard-earned money is not misused.

James, this year’s experience was truly disappointing. Scallywags should have maintained its reputation as Scallywags, rather than opting for the less popular One-Eyed Willy’s. Such establishments do not align with the preferences of holidaymakers. Also noting as for the photos posted on the facebook page are false one showed a packed establishment last evening, I can confirm there was around 12 people last evening not the 200 shown from last year.

Original review ⭐️DISAPPOINTING!

Over the past few years, we have consistently visited this establishment every evening during our stay in Tenerife. However, this year has witnessed a significant decline in our experience.

The primary reason for this change lies in the replacement of the original staff. While the new staff may be competent, the quality of the performances has deteriorated. Notably, the number of acts has been reduced from three to two, resulting in a lack of variety and entertainment options.

Prior to this year, the establishment catered to families seeking an early-night entertainment experience, with performances now commencing at 10:30 PM. However, the current lineup consists of only two quality acts, accompanied by a subpar selection of magic shows, snake shows, and football skills demonstrations.

As a result of these changes, we have reduced our spending at the establishment. In fact, we have only consumed one drink on three nights and have not returned since our arrival in Tenerife ten nights ago.

James We urge you to rectify this situation promptly, as the current state of the establishment has resulted in substantial financial losses to you and entertainment for our family and other families we have spoken to. The name “Family Show Bar” is a testament to the establishment’s original concept, and it is imperative that you retain this name to avoid alienating...

NOT KID OR PEOPLE FRIENDLY. I’m not one to write reviews but people need to be warned.

They have attempted to intimidate me and my family during the rest of our holiday for writing a review, when I was not rude, i did not respond despite being cornered and spoken too very rudely - (told to f off if i didn’t have a drink for asking where the toilet was - then being followed into the toilet and shouted at) They have now posted photographs of us on their Facebook page and comments (creepily screenshotting our pages with photographs of our friends and family in in), slagging us off to other bars (to not let us in) and gaslighting their customers. Telling them to make horrible comments towards us. This is highly unprofessional and scare tactics.

The only reason they have good reviews is because they try to scare or block anyone who writes a bad one….

They then tried to invite us back into the bar another night so clearly was all lies…No other bar has had any issue with us.
