Excellent Spanish food with a twist
We have been to the sister restaurant, Taberna Vasca Txupinazo in Los Cristianos on a number of occasions but decided to try the new restaurant in Adeje.
The menu is similar to Vasca. We started with the Stuffed Mussels (€9) and Ensaladilla Rusa (€5). The mussels where totally delicious, the Russian Salad chunky and perfect.
Next we had a dish of Chipriones Andaluz(€10), these are cut in bite size pieces, battered and fried, tender, perfectly cooked and very tasty. A plate of deep fried crispy prawns (€8) where covered in panko breadcrumbs, scrumptious. Our last dish of crispy ox tail meat balls (€12) was a revelation as a modern twist to a Spanish standard, crispy coated with cereal flakes on a bed of mash potatoes, coated in delicious rich sauce. Totally delicious. Bread, a bottle of water and an very acceptable bottle of Vino de la Casa Blanco (€15) took the total bill to a very reasonable €61.50
The service was friendly, making you feel welcome. Food was not rushed but delivered in courses allowing time in between. Finished with a little drink on the house.
As with the sister restaurant in Los Christianos this is not your typical Tapas bar, it’s much, much better. The chefs have a flair for including a flash of sauce that adds to the final dish, inspiring. We can totally recommend this restaurant and will return soon to try...
Read moreA very unpleasant situation. We came in a group of three, ordered a bottle of wine and water. We waited quite a while for our order to be taken, but eventually it was. I asked if the paella was gluten-free. I was told no, because it contains rice. I replied that rice is naturally gluten-free and asked if the waiter could confirm this with the chef. I was mocked, being told that rice contains gluten… I asked if they had anything else, and the answer was no. There was no willingness to help, and the waiter’s attitude was very unpleasant. We left, paying for the entire bottle of wine and drinks we hadn’t consumed. There was no understanding or attempt to address the situation.
In today’s world, it’s very important to know about allergens—please educate your team. Gluten is in flour, found in things like pasta, but...
Read moreWhat an amazing little place. We came out early to eat as we have an excursion tonight. We saw it had good reviews but wasn't normally a menu we would pick as it had ALOT we've never tried. However.. I knew it would be amazing as soon as I ordered my wine and was given a recommendation by Christoma that I loved! We ordered the iberic ham croquettes, the spicy black pudding, the fried baby squid and the cod 'a bras' While enjoying the beach and sea view our food came out a pace we could enjoy the lighter starter and our main came out at the perfect time. Perfect for a later lunch or a lighter evening meal if your enjoying your drinks. Everything complements the palette perfectly and I will...
