Batuar Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

The place was recommended by our friend from Spain for having nice patio dining experience. The food was good (not exceptional, just good). Bad service and shady charging practice ruined the experience though. The service was very inattentive and forgetful. Our waiter never came to ask if we want a second drink. When we attracted someone's attention they got our order but didn't bring it, just put it on the bill. In the end the waiter charged the card in dollars without offering the choice of euro, just pressed the buttons himself w/o showing what he is doing. When asked about that he was lying that he charged in euro although documents in his hands were showing the charge in dollars. And all these lies are for $13 difference? I can go in details why the food is not up to the price, but I don't feel like discussing the details of dining experience is applicable to the place defrauding customers on credit...

The food is not worth the money don’t bother going. I booked this restaurant months prior to the dinner. Only to find out when we got there that it wasn’t in the restaurant and it was in a quiet library with no atmosphere and not the restaurant I thought I booked. They done this because they had a private pre wedding booking that hired out the whole restaurant. And if they actually told me the reason I would have gone somewhere else. The service was extra slow because we were not priority. The server was so rude and dismissive. The drinks were nice but the food had to get sent back as it was cold. I always took pride in not giving bad reviews, however, this time I feel I have to post my first ever negative review on Google.

While the location is absolutely stunning the service staff is seriously inattentive, not paying any attention to patrons.

And, the food is certainly not at par with what you would anticipate for the price point. I had the beef Wellington for main course, the meat was decent but other elements of my meal were absolutely sub-standard.

The rest of my party were even more disappointed with their food than I was with mine!

Thus and to summarize, one could possibly go to Batuar for a simple drink merely to enjoy the nice ambiance, but I cannot recommend anyone...
