Dr Beer & Mr Fried — Restaurant in Barcelona

I hate to leave a bad review for any place ever, but after our experience when dining here tonight, I felt like it was only the right thing to do. We went there after seeing they offered all you can eat wings on tuesdays and wednesdays on their website and when we were seated we were given a menu that didn’t specify all you can eat but had chicken wings on it so we each ordered wings and asked them for an additional order one time. When we received our bill, we were charged for 4 portions of wings so double the price we were expecting to pay. When I mentioned that I thought it was all you can eat wings, they said I didn’t ask for the promotion and that we needed a reservation to have all you can eat, and that we needed to order from a separate paper menu (which was not offered to us as an option at all). On their regular menu they only offer bbq or plain wings with lemon so we ordered both options, but when I asked what the difference was between the regular menu and the all you can eat, he said they only offered bbq with the all you can eat (not sure why you wouldn’t include the plain though since it’s cheaper to make than bbq). They did not offer to make an exception at all, despite there being no mention of a reservation requirement and the fact they do offer this on their website and still insisted on charging us 60 euros for 4 portions of wings, a small fries with an extra sauce, a margarita and a water. On the plus side the bbq wings were pretty good, the plain were very basic though and lacked much flavor. I did try their homemade lemonade but when it arrived it was so bitter that I couldn’t drink it, so the waiter agreed to add some simple syrup/sugar, but when it came back it was still so bitter I couldn’t drink it at all. They did swap that out for a water which was much better. I think they could’ve offered to adjust the bill and we would’ve overall been pretty happy with our meal, but instead of taking 22 euros off the bill and having a happy customer who would have been willing to come back in the future, they decided to hang on to their 22 euros and not make any more money from us in the future. I know how hard it is to run a restaurant and I never want to damage someone’s business, but when you have a publicly advertised deal, you need to honor that. I promise I’m not a Karen, this just strongly felt like a bait and switch to us. If I misunderstood the policy I can accept that, but I think this could’ve been handled...

Located in Raval - 5 mins walking from MACBA . 🇬🇧🔎Cool and funky interior design, a good place for gatherings, besides their main fried chickens, they serve Tapas as well . 🍗In search of the best Fried chicken and waffles in Barcelona, I had to try this one as well. They have it with honey mustard sauce and cabbage, which I tried, and also with blue cheese and provolone sauce. I still prefer the classic which is with maple syrup. We came to try unlimited all you can eat wings. Unfortunately it only looked goood on google reviews but was disappointing. Its true that every round was made hot and fresh and it was juicy, and the taste is marinated, the deliverance is quite amateur and the wings just didnt taste great for us. We did try to order few more rounds to make the money worth, but we cant say we have enjoyed the experience overall. Its a pity we thought this could be a game changer since everything was made hot and fresh, but the quality is just not there, there can be a lot of improvements on the batter and the technique of making the wings. For us its a no go and not a place we would want to repeat or recommend. If i need to describe this place, its a normal place with normal food - nothing bad, but nothing outstanding either. a bit disappointed to see so many five stars for this quality, put aside the high price they are charging for such low quality regardless it was worth it or not…. there are way better wings...
