Irish Pub Temple Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

These guys don’t know anything about whisky/whiskey.. nor many people for that matter. They claim Scotland popularized whisky in the 1600’s while nobody wanted it as it is such poor quality😂😂. They also claim Scotland made a distinct flavour is smoky?? 😂😂 Seriously, it’s not smoky and it is Peat flavour which Ireland has plenty and also created that long before Scotland. Another point is Ireland produced and controlled 80% of the global whisky/whiskey supply in the world up until the early 1900’s which collapsed due to a combination of multiple factors two being the trade war with U.K. that is connected to the rest of the world, prohibition in the USA as well as Irish civil wars. In fact there probably wouldn’t be any Scottish whisky in any bar around the world today only for that collapse of Irish whiskey as Scottish whisky is disgusting and such poor quality. Scottish whisky has been the biggest marketing scam in the history of whisky for the past 100 years 🤣🤣🤣. It's a KIP. As a true blue Jackeen, I went in with the family to watch the Dublin/Cork hurling game last Sunday. With at least 4 large tv screens they were showing the same soccer game on all screens (very Irish), when they eventually switched over to the match one one small screen it was already 20 minutes started. They switched off the reviews at half time and immediately after the match. IT'S NOT CHILD FRIENDLY AND ITS A RIP OFF, with 3 children in tow no large bottles of water or minerals were available - can get them in pubs back home - so had to buy multiple smallers ones at €3 each. Ordered food and extra drinks, food was cancelled as it was not longer available, had no option to cancel the drinks as they arrived with the waiter who said here is the drinks and your food is not available, had to pay for drinks though only wanted them with food. It's like Ireland ok - rip off Ireland - in my view it's not value for money. Would I recommend it - yes I would recommend AVOIDING IT and go elsewhere and get value for...

Just so you all know...there is an unpleasant security guard at the front door. He physically assaulted me because I reported broken glass to an 18 year old bartender and she felt intimidated by my insistence. As a result, he assaulted me in the street and knocked me to my feet. I have suffered permanent nerve damage and am currently filing a lawsuit against him. Just beware....the personnel at this bar are not friendly and do not provide great service. I have to believe it is a reflection of poor management. They bank on the idea that all of their customers are transient and for this reason the service is sub-par. See you all in court in 2 years...such is the pace of the Spanish justice system. Buen suerte!
