La Fusta — Restaurant in Barcelona

I felt compelled to write this review after reading the many other reviews before our dining experience here. This restaurant had excellent reviews, over 701 reviews and an overall score of 4.7. We entered the restaurant based solely on the reviews. However our experience didn’t reflect this score at all. It all seems very fishy to me. We were the only diners there on a Monday evening and whilst the kitchen was preparing our food, I couldn’t hear any cooking sounds from the kitchen despite being seating directly next to it. Our food arrived and I immediately thought the food wasn’t hot as there wasn’t any steam coming from it and the surface of the food was actually like warm, however as I mixed my tagliatelle carbonara, the steam came from inside the pasta and the centre was very hot. This is a clear indication that the food was microwaved and not prepared freshly. Along with this, the food became cold after only a few minutes, another indication that the food was microwaved. We also ordered a pizza which was without doubt cooked from frozen. The dough was lacking in flavour, texture and colour. I am a chef by trade and feel confident in my observations. Came up, a waiter came out (he didn't look like a local, either an Indian or someone with a moustache) said the restaurant was closed: I asked why Google says working until 00.00? He started talking insolently. I wanted to write a review in his presence, and got punched in the face. What the hell is this!? But I didn't want to stir up a conflict in a foreign country, he started shouting that he was the owner, started being insolent to his wife. When I said let's call the police, he started getting even more nervous and jumping, caught up and grabbed me from behind. Then some guys from another cafe ran up and started calming him down. I have a question for the owner!? Are you even adequate? Where did you get a 4.7 rating on Google? With such inadequate staff as your waiters, you have no reason to rate them at all. A street eatery. and it is a pity that being in a foreign country you cannot adequately respond to the actions of your temporary worker, who imagined himself to be the owner.
