Spectacular food and service. I consider myself somewhat of a connesieur of desserts in general and ice cream in particular. While the food was all excellent, the biggest highlight was the vanilla ice cream at the conclusion of the meal, which was perfect. It was the best ice cream I have ever eaten in my entire life, without a doubt. We began the meal with 'pan con tomate' which was crispy and moist. After, we had 'escalibada' and 'coca bread' both of which worked in concert with one another to form an optimal second course. Third up were the 'huevos rotos', I am an American citizen and didn't know that I could get fries with eggs and jamon on them. This course was life changing for me as a fan of french fries, decedent meats, and eggs. The fourth course consisted of 'canelones', some delectable concoction made up of pasta, meat, and sauce. Picture a white lasagna but rolled rather than stacked, and more tasty than any lasagna before or after. After this came the ice cream. I have already exhausted all the adjectives in my vocabulary that I might have used to describe it. There will be two phases in my life, that of inferior ice creams, and that after the home-made, succulent, simply perfect vanilla ice cream. Our server, Simone, informed us that the ice cream cannot be purchased elsewhere, but have two recommendations. Gracias Mussol, Gracias Simone, Viva España,...
Read moreWe happened to come across Mussol Aragó while waiting for the night tour at Casa Batlló and the dinner turned out to be a highlight of the trip. A great opportunity to try Catalan cuisine - fairly priced and rich in flavor. The grilled avocados with guacamole cream were great, and the oxtail was deliciously tender. I had heard about the "stone grill at the table" types of restaurants before, but was pleasantly surprised how tasty (and fun!) the actual experience was. Finishing off with a Catalanet dessert at the suggestion of our server Jordi was an awesome way to end the meal. Hoping to return to Barcelona in the future and we will definitely be back. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a sit down experience in the...
Read moreDo not go here if you are looking for a pleasant experience!! We have never had such a rude, unwelcoming service as we received here, in all our time in Spain. On 12.5.23 late afternoon, the guy in charge of the bar area seemed to be purposefully rude despite our attempts to ask politely to see a wine list and even for service in the first place. We asked for a second drink (after being ignored for 15 mins) and then after another 20 mins of waiting we left. I think the other staff were embarrassed especially the young woman who he was teaching how to use the coffee machine. What a way to learn the hospitality trade - from someone as rude as him!! I...
