A vegetarian perspective:
This has been one of my personal WORST experience having dinner at ANY Indian restaurant thus far.
Starting with food, we ordered Chaat papri for starters, a paneer Tikka subji and garlic naan with veg buriyani. Of all Chaat papri was the only dish that was some what edible. The paneer sabji was just plain CheckUp with frizen paneer cubes in it. Biriyani was just a simple veg pulao. To top it all up, the prices are ridiculously high for the amount of food and type of services received. Also the food came within 2-3 minutes after ordering. To my knowledge NO one can cook any indian curry dish in that time. It was obvious that the food was microwaved.
The servers were not pleasent either. It felt like they were doing us a favour by getting our food out and even when we went to pay, the female server had such a bad expressions on her face that it felt like she hated us for being their customers.
Finally the ONLY recommendation I have for travellers to Barca, DO NOT go to this place for Indian food unless you want to throw your money down the drain. There are other much better restaurents in Barca for Indian food.
I would have given zero or negative...
Read moreI recently dined at Surya Restaurant in Barcelona and wanted to share my experience to help others make an informed decision. First, I found the biryani quite underwhelming; it lacked the rich flavors and aromas I was expecting, which was disappointing given its price point. Speaking of costs, I was surprised to discover that the restaurant charges for services that are typically complimentary elsewhere, such as phone charging. This seemed a bit unusual and added an unexpected expense to the meal.
Additionally, I was taken aback by the service. The staff member I interacted with came across as disrespectful, which detracted from the dining experience. Furthermore, I was surprised that simple accompaniments like onion and lemon slices came with a hefty price tag of at least 5 euros. This seemed excessive and not in line with the value offered.
While I understand that every establishment has its policies and pricing strategies, I felt that the overall value and experience at Surya Restaurant did not meet my expectations. I hope this feedback can be constructive and lead to improvements that enhance the dining experience for...
Read moreThis maybe lengthy, but pls read it till end. My experience with this restaurant was not good in terms of food and was really bad as the cook is very rude and arrogant. I ordered paneer tikka masala, naan and raita. Naan was good but paneer tikka masala did not taste or even look like one rather it was a plain onion tomato gravy with raw paneer added to it. Raita was sweet(excessively sweet). When I tried talking to the cook and give him the feedback regarding “Paneer Curry so called “Paneer Tikka Masala” in the menu, he simply dint accept it and moreover talked to me rudely. The way of talking or addressing was unexpected and even I had to mention “This is how you talk to your customers”. Just to tell people who might not be aware, Paneer Tikka Masala is one of the signature dishes of Indian Cuisine and the restaurant is serving simply a plain gravy.
Point which I want to make here, if you are not serving panner tikka masala (gravy), please dont mention that on your menu which confuses people who seeks genuine Indian Cuisine. And of course, the staff could be...
