Rao was fabulous! The servers were nice and friendly, and the food was terrific. It is a great tapas spot in Barcelona. We ordered the following plates: jamón, patatas bravas, the lazy tortilla, burrata, the lamb, and the pork cheek.

The jamón was thin, soft, and flavorful. It melted in my mouth, and it went well with the crispy bread.

The patatas bravas were delicious! The potatoes were a beautiful golden color, and they were nice and crispy. They tasted great with the creamy salsa and aioli, providing an excellent contrast.

The lazy tortilla was fantastic. It was made unconventionally, which I appreciated. Normally, Spanish tortillas are thick and soft, and potatoes and eggs are the main ingredients. The truffle puree typically isn't included. When I was in Andalusia a few years ago, I did not come across any unconventional tortillas. That being said, I liked how the lazy tortilla was thin, and the truffle puree made it more flavorful.

The burrata was delicious, and the jalapeño sauce made it a lot more flavorful. It had a slight kick to it, which I enjoyed. The tomatoes were tasty, too.

We loved the lamb! The lamb was nice and tender, and it went well with the tangy yogurt sauce. The pork cheek was excellent, too, and it went well with the polenta.

There is a bar next door called Numero Tres. If you want to have a drink before or after dinner, the folks at Rao will take care of you! They'll make a reservation for you at Numero Tres. We were a little early, and one of the servers brought us to Numero Tres, which was awesome. The folks at Numero Tres are also amiable, and the drinks were great. The drinks at Rao are also fantastic; they are strong. They definitely are not watering down their drinks!

We enjoyed our time here, and we would love...

I love this restaurant! It's a cozy, brick-lined restaurant with a really comfortable vibe, friendly service, and outstanding food. I was seated at the bar which is very typical for a solo diner but felt very well taken care of by Luis behind the bar. I started with a glass of Cava which was great, then ordered their patatas bravas and their lamb terrine with yogurt and mint. The patatas bravas were outstanding, an extremely generous serving of potatoes that were crispy on the outside and creamy soft on the inside, with a spicy tomato sauce and aioli. Luis saw that I was taking my time enjoying the patatas and asked if I wanted to wait a bit for the lamb, which I did and I really appreciated that he was looking out for appropriate timing for me. I asked Luis for a recommendation for my next drink and he recommended a Rioja that was so good with the lamb. The lamb terrine was terrific and came with a pomegranate sauce in addition to the yogurt and mint, utterly delicious. Dessert was their creme Catalan, like a very rustic and soft cream bruleé with a scoop of lemon sorbet in the middle, again a very generous serving and very tasty. I ended with a glass of sherry and an espresso, both were great. At 42 Euros this felt like a bargain for Barcelona. The place had some energy but was not overwhelming or loud. I'm delighted to have found this place and plan to go back before I leave...

Think this one deserves the five stars. Last day in Barcelona for me, super sad four overall had an amazing time in Spain. Saw the most famous building in Barcelona, think it’s called la familia something, it’s some building. Super big and walking up and down the stairs was super fun. Definitely recommend seeing the building and walking up and down the towers. I love those stairs, they are just so amazing. Super fun as well did I mention because they spiral for a long time down. Anyways this restaurant was great. Last dinner wanted something nice and this was nice. They did some pretty standard stuff, like the patatas bravas were nothing spectacular but I thought the duck and beef were amazing. They were bold and unique in flavor which could be a negative but in this case a big positive. It was funny, my mom thought the duck was the beef before we got the beef. Just thought that was funny. Other than that everything else was good, but nothing really stood out you know? Like it was good and definitely tasted amazing but it was similar to the more traditional Spanish tapas. Which is great. A little tipsy during this meal because we had 8 free drinks we had to drink. My Beli gave this an 8.8 which is super impressive. I give it more like an 8.4 but enough to get it to the five star rating for me. It was a special place. Definitely recommend going here. Worth...
