Xarcuteria Valentí — Restaurant in Barcelona

Wow this meal was amazing. We were walking around looking for a place for a late dinner and lucked out that we picked this one. Every dish we got was incredible, especially outstanding were the tomato tartar (I honestly didn’t know that was a thing omg) fried squid (fiancé rates this “life altering” it was so good) garlic shrimp, and their featured Iberian ham plate with the tomato bread. Ham croquettes were better than every other spot but I wasn’t freaking out over them like the other dishes I mentioned. A fortunate encounter ‼️ We were aiming for a different restaurant in the neighborhood but it was full. So we sat at Valenti. Super fast super polite super good. Didak (sorry if I pronounced it wrong mate) was impeccable in his manners and suggestions and also spoke English which for some reason Catalonians seem to think is not that important ... Price was a bit much at first glance but the wine and beers were a lot, and -never forget- you are dinning in Barcelona not in some village. All and all a great spot, with no sugarcoatings. Fantastic Food! An absolute delight. The menu was diverse and very interesting and so our group wound up ordering almost every appetizer and entrée. Everything was amazing. We wound up returning two nights later and again had a wonderful experience. Food was delivered quickly by the experienced staff and everything came out at the right temperature and cooked to perfection. It's too bad seating is quite limited but if expanding impacted the quality, I'd prefer they stayed small. Great wine...
