One of the Worst Dining Experiences We Had. Avoid La Tapita de Plata
If you are looking for a culinary disaster in Cádiz, look no further than La Tapita de Plata. From start to finish, our meal was a masterclass in how not to cook food.
The dishes arrived looking like they had already given up on life. Overcooked, greasy, and tragically uninspired. The tuna, a local staple that should have been the star, was completely overlooked and overcooked. It had a strange, sickly aftertaste that reminded us more of hospital food than fresh seafood. Frankly, it was unpleasant to eat.
The beef was almost flavorless, dry, and utterly lacking in any sort of culinary finesse. It tasted like someone read a recipe once, forgot it halfway through, and then just gave up.
But the absolute low point, and this is saying something, were the patatas bravas. These were, without exaggeration, the worst we ever had. Limp, lifeless, and bland beyond belief. Where was the spice, the crunch, the passion This dish had none of the fiery Spanish character it is known for. If we had wanted soggy and flavorless fries, we could have stayed home and burnt a bag of frozen ones ourselves.
The entire meal felt like it was prepared by someone who not only lacks love for cooking but might actively resent it. It bordered on the kind of food you might serve to pets, but even that would be unfair to the animals.
The only saving grace The staff were kind and tried their best. Unfortunately, no amount of politeness could rescue the catastrophe coming out of the kitchen.
Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else. Cádiz has amazing food. This place is not part...
Read moreI’ve no idea how this place got such high reviews. Out of all the meals we had in Cadiz over five days, this was the only bad one. Even the bread was bad! The fried dog fish was like awful school dinners fish fingers, soaked in vinegar, but with enormous bones in them. The chicken strips were actually popcorn chicken, with the tiniest bit of meat in them, and a disgusting sickly sweet mustard dressing. Then we had the sirloin steak toast, and the tuna tataki toast. The sirloin was actually unseasoned pork, on top of a vile Brie( a cheese I normally love), and a limp piece of processed bread. The tuna toast was equally awful- so awful that I left some of the tuna( my favourite food). The waitress was very nice. That’s literally all that was good...

Giving it a lower score because i don't think it deserves 4.8. Food is not bad bad but its also not that good. In a more local places i got wayyy nicer food, maybe with not as nice serving but food after all is about the taste not the looks that much, in my opinion.
Anchiovies were tasteless, shrimp tortilla was ok. potato salad was the same as you can get in supermarket (but nicely served) and the toasts were quite simple as well... so yes after going there due to the high grade, the...
