I booked this room for three nights, but from the moment I walked in, it was a nightmare. The entire room reeked of cigarette smoke — a strong, heavy smell that hit me immediately. I opened the door and waited for hours hoping it would air out, but it actually got worse. The smell was overwhelming and gave me a headache.

I went to reception and explained the situation. The staff member said she would speak to the manager, but when she came back, she told me there were no other rooms available and I had to stay in the same one. There was no apology, no solution, and no offer to help or make the stay more bearable.

Even turning on the air conditioner made things worse — the smell intensified, so I had to turn it off and suffer through the heat instead. I didn’t receive anything extra or even a small gesture to make up for the awful experience.

I ended up staying in that room for three nights because I had no other option, but it was miserable. I would never book this place again and absolutely do not...

CUIDADO QUE NO TE ESTAFEN: Sigue por lo visto igual de mal. Estuve hace un año, aproximadamente y la experiencia no pudo ser peor: subes a una primera planta sin ascensor, con lo cuál es evidente que no es apta para discapacitados. Tras subir y pasar la puerta, tienes el mostrador de recepción en medio del pasillo que da a las habitaciones, pésimamente insonorizadas. El señor de recepción habla bastante fuerte y tiene puesta la tele mientras está allí desde bien tempranito, pero sorpresa: llega cierta hora y se marcha, quedando la pensión sin personal para que te atiendan o vigilen las instalaciones. Lo que no desaparece son ni el olor a humedad ni el ruido de la climatización, con los que te tendrás que aguantar toda la noche. No poseen baño individual, con la incomodidad que ello conlleva: si está ocupado el baño o se están duchando, te tienes que ir al otro lado del edificio, con lo cual tienes que atravesar todo el pasillo hasta el otro extremo. También, por si fuera poco, si no estás conforme por todo lo descrito, no llegas a tiempo antes de que se marche el señor, te ves obligado a llegar al día siguiente... si haces una reserva por varias noches, pagas por adelantado y te ocurre algo de esto, NO TE DEVUELVEN EL DINERO, ni aún cuando se lo avises con tiempo o previamente, como fue mi caso: tras pasar una mala noche por todo lo descrito, le dije que no iba a pasar la segunda y su reacción pasó sorprendentemente a una prepotencia mayúscula diciendo que no me devolvía el dinero, por toda la cara. ASÍ QUE CUIDADO AL HACER LA RESERVA, PUES SI NO ESTÁS CONFORME IN SITU, QUE SEGURAMENTE SEA LO MÁS PROBABLE, SE DESENTIENDEN ARGUMENTANDO QUE SON LAS CONDICIONES ACEPTADAS Y PIERDES EL DINERO. Se ve que tienen una amplia experiencia en estos casos y el señor te da largas como un campeón. Personalmente, la próxima vez que vuelva a Cádiz, buscaré otras opciones (cerca las hay y no mucho más caras) con baño individual, con instalaciones nuevas y en condiciones, sin humedades, personal que me pueda atender y vigile la tranquilidad, el bienestar por el que pago, y, sobre todo, que NO ME ESTAFEN POR LA CARA. Please don't believe any negative comment about this place. I was actually quite scared and wanted to cancel my reservation reading the reviews, but I'm so glad I didn't. The people who work here are really friendly, when the girl showed me my room she asked if I wanted to have a different room with a bigger bed ('cause I'm tall) for the same price. The hostel is really cute and superclean and you have everything you need. Ok there are few bathrooms, that's a small minor. But I think it's actually quite normal for the price you pay. Very well located too. I'm happy for staying here and would totally recommend it!
