Pretty middle of the road. Layout/architecture wise, this hostel is stunning. Probably the most visibly appealing hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Friendly front desk staff too. It was nice having a private bathroom right inside the dorm, however, the automatic lights would turn off after (I think) 60 seconds of no motion being detected. I understand the purpose of having automatic lights, but having a shower in a bathroom set up like this is pretty inconvenient, every minute having to open the shower door, getting water all on the floor, waving my hand around in the air in order to be detected & get some light… there were also no ledges/shelves in the shower to put your soap razors etc. The cleaners would always control/shut off the AC whenever they entered, and after leaving, they would leave the door wide open leading into the hallway, so anyone could enter. There’s signs hung up in the room advising you to keep your doors locked at all times, so for safety purposes, I don’t understand the logic behind this… Staying in an all-female dorm as a solo traveller, I’d prefer to not have the door left open so any stranger, man or woman, can enter freely. There was this odd, constant chirping/beeping sound coming from the lobby (?), no idea what it was, but it was like a smoke detector sort of beep, all day every day… Unless you had earplugs, you would hear it all night in your room. I was happy to see many positive reviews before booking, and although it wasn’t terrible by any means, I was a let down a bit…probably...
Read morePlaneta Cadiz Hostel was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It is absolutely beautiful, conveniently located, and kept immaculately clean by the friendly staff. The historical building has stunning architecture and a lovely rooftop terrace. The kitchen is modern and spotless. Additionally, they have a study room, a laundry room, and a spacious cinema room. The rooms are clean, and each one has a private bathroom. I stayed in a 6-person room, but there were only three of us, which made it perfect. The rooms also have air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable stay. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the city center, close to small supermarkets, shops, and important attractions.
One of the highlights of this hostel is the variety of affordable and enjoyable activities they offer. They truly go the extra mile to provide a memorable experience for their guests. I visited in late June, just before the high season began, and it was the optimal time to enjoy everything the hostel had to offer.
I wholeheartedly recommend Planet Cadiz Hostel to everyone. It exceeded all my expectations, and I am already looking forward to staying there again on my next...
Read morewhat started out as a good stay turned into a fiasco. Went into the kitchen our final night and put some food/drinks in the fridge to grab before we had to leave the following morning as well as hung up wet clothes on the line which was outside off the kitchen. Went up at 7am to go and grab our stuff from the line/fridge and the doors were locked!! There were absolutely no signs stating the the kitchen would be locked during a period of time and there was no staff, no number to call, just nothing we could do but leave our articles of clothing and food/drinks behind. We were so upset because these clothing items had sentimental value. We sent an email to the hostel, messaged on instagram, WhatsApp, and tried calling numerous times to see if they could ship us our clothing items (we said we would’ve paid for shipping) but no responses!! They read my WhatsApp message as well! Very disappointed:(( Besides this fiasco, the hostel had no vibes at all, no social aspect, was boring. Will not be staying there again! Would leave no stars if that...
