If you have filipino palate, it will rate as one of your favourites. First served with an excellent appetizer pritong mani, which I thought was perfectly cooked and balancedly salted with the right kick of spice. As claimed, they've perfected its execution which I tend to agree. We tried their streetfood fishball/kikiam, isaw na baboy and inihaw/barbecue na tenga, which was to die for. Too bad, they ran out as we had the last serving of it. I would have ordered more. It's a must, if you come and visit. Kare-kare was available for our dinner and it didn't frustrate our large appetite. Presentation was good as well as the taste as they didn't cut corners on the sauce; though the bagoong was a bit sweeter for my taste. The saltiness should be complimented by a litlle bit of sweetness, but that's just me. The sizzling sisig just brings back memories of beer days when barkadas have enough allawonce for the week to order one. It was the perfect order to compliment the night that brings back your memories of the Pearl of the Orient right in the middle of Madrid, just a short walking distance from the King's Palace. Don't forget to have your dessert, an ice cream that's smooth and creamy. You'd definitely taste the ube and some chunks of cheese. Don't be fooled into thinking you're being served with Tillamook ice cream as this one's homemade! Though the place is a bit cramped, as most seating is in the basement, it's worth the trip to weave your way through an...
Read moreMy wife and I stumbled upon this place on the way to Palacio Real de Madrid. The Philippine flag on their sidewalk signboard caught our attention, so we decided to check it out.
The place is small and cozy, which makes it feel even more welcoming. The owners were super friendly, and it really felt like stepping into a little piece of home.
We ordered the Lechon Kawali, Sinigang, Isaw, and Turon, and everything was spot on. The Lechon Kawali was crispy and tender, the Sinigang had just the right amount of tang, and the Isaw was packed with flavor. The Turon was a perfect sweet finish—crispy on the outside, soft inside.
It’s a great spot for a laid-back meal with good food and warm hospitality. If you’re in Madrid and craving Filipino flavors, definitely worth a visit.
I almost forgot—the mani (peanuts) are so good! Salty, garlicky, and with just a...
Read moreI went looking for a Filipino restaurant for my mom here on our trip to Madrid, who is from the Philippines, and she loved this place! She had pancit, lumpia, and a couple other appetizers - she loved it all!
On top of the great quality of the food (which was at a great price), the staff were super friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely be returning once more before we leave Madrid.
One thing to note, however, is that if you have mobility issues, there is a narrow staircase that leads down to the main area of the restaurant and to the bar (my mom uses a wheelchair most of the time and has difficulty using stairs). However, there is thankfully a small eating area upstairs for customers to use if they do not wish to...
