A Delightful Greek Escape at Kritikos

I recently had an unforgettable dinner experience at Kritikos! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the rich aroma of authentic Greek cuisine. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with charming rustic decor.

The menu offered a great spectrum of Greek traditional dishes, each prepared with care and authenticity. We started with the some mezzes—chickpea and roasted pepper creamy hummus, aubergine salad and feta cream with walnuts. Then we continued with assortment of Greek croquettes that melted in our mouths. The main course was equally spectacular. The Gyros was rich and flavorful, while the chicken and veal skewers were tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection.

To top it off, we had Greek-style rice pudding and warm brownie, both of which were utterly divine. Every bite was a celebration of flavors, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.

What truly set this taverna apart, however, was the hospitality. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their food and culture.

If you're looking for a true taste of Greece, look no further than Kritikos. Whether it's a special occasion or just a casual evening out, this is a place that guarantees delicious food and warm hospitality....

A hidden gem in the heart of Chuca area in Madrid . It's a very cosy but comfortable restaurant. We were greeted by Nikos in a typical Greek welcoming way and made sure that we were accommodated well in a very busy night , turning up without a booking . The service was efficient without trying to rush you . We were explained exactly what everything was and offered plenty vegetarian options. The food was 5* . Beautifully presented, tasting like homely food ( we cleared all the dishes ) , in generous portions , couldn't fault it in any way . Head chef Amir , you did a great job . Thank you for making my company happy. At the end of the meal, the offering of " Mastiha " was the icing on the cake ! The atmosphere was really cosy but comfortable. So glad I visited " Kritikos " , I will definitely visit it again when my way brings me...

It's not bad but it's not good either... It's worth the price if you have the discount from El Tenedor. The Dolmades were beyond cooked which made them be a mushroom paste of what once was rice. Besides that, they used a fennel sauce which is not used in Dolmades traditionally and it was not to my taste... But hey, that's a personal thing. The Spanakopita was clearly heated in the microwave which is unacceptable as it was a Friday dinner... If it was a Tuesday lunch I could accept it but not the busiest night of the week. As for desert it was honestly quite good but not good enough as to make it overshadow the rest...

It is a bit overpriced for the value. The menu lacks a lot of variety for the greek cuisine and the food wasn’t impressive at all. The grilled chicken dish was great; it doesn’t scream greek but it was neat. The mixed appetisers plate is definitely a must-try; you get to sample lots of things, still expensive but at least was delicious. The pasta with meat dish was small and too tomato-ey. The chocolate cake was stale and we ordered 3 of it and each got a different size! The place itself is nice, small, cosy and cute for date night. The staff were super helpful as well.

Nikos, our waiter, was very nice and went above and beyond to make our Easter dinner special. When he found out we were celebrating “Greek Easter “ away from home, he brought us a basket of eggs so we could do the traditional egg breaking game. It was nice to be able to have a conversation in Greek. The food was delicious! It was a taste of Greece in the middle of Madrid! And they had the Greek beers we enjoy and ouzo. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food, service ands atmosphere
