I ate a good bit of places while I was in Madrid but this one lives rent-free in my head. If you're reading this and you're from the southern United States and you eat soul food/country cookin you'll have no problem with this place. It's just fatty, porky, beefy, goodness. It's very decadent and reminds me of soup or greens I'd have at my grandma's house just deconstructed.

A lot of people on my social media said the food look unseasoned...it's not. I've seen people in the reviews say that it's too salty, which again it's not. It's seasoned to the point of not being unseasoned but not overseasoned to the point of the focus being off the meat.

The customer service was OUTSTANDING. Everything from our interactions on facebook to them looking up directions and the schedule for the metro subway so that we could get to our tour on time. We also made it to their facebook page.

If you're in Madrid and you're on the fence about this place, just go! Just a warning, it's a LOOOOOOT of food. It would probably take 4 really hungry people to eat it also but you can take the rest. We just didn't because...

Pro : authentic feel , amount of food (actually too much food) , simple but tastey (soup a bit salty but good combination with chekpeas ), friendly staff (minimal English) Con : you'll be paying a different price than a local for sure ! (Not cool !!), Meat (beef was ok the rest ... Set yourself up for a disappointment).

In short if you pay the same as a local would have been a must have one time experience .... Otherwise you'll come out thinking how did they manage to get all those stars on google !!!

Well for two we spent 50 euros ! (I can think of much more pleasant experiences in that price range ) (2 cosidos +...

Doña Lola and her family are not only the best host family, but indeed the Ambassadors and creators of a lifetime experience! EL MEJOR COCIDO MADRILEÑO IN MADRID, simply THE BEST in town, trust me on this one because I’ve been hunting in different places and I can assure you what I’m posting! If you come to Madrid (specially in wintertime) and you don’t reserve and come here, you will miss it big time!! (Be ready to be lifted with a crane after this meal, personally recommend not to eat before for like... 3 days! Haha) ah! And if you can, bring your...

BEST cocido madrileño in Madrid, for some reason it is rated as a top restaurant. Ignore reviews from ignorant tourists. From a Spaniard; YES it's supposed to be salty and you are supposed to eat the fat from the pork with the soup, it fact it's the best part. Your reviews can be compared to a complaint that your hands ended up full of oil after eating a good burger... 🤦🏻‍♂️ Do your research properly and understand that in Spain, albeit it would be a good thing, people are not required to learn or know English.
