New York Burger, Miguel Ángel 16 — Restaurant in Madrid

Total disappointment. I remembered it better than it is. Slow service, the burger was dry and cold because maybe they forgot to bring it when it was ready. With cheese fingers, two burgers and coke, almost 18€ per person is not good value for your money anymore.

Reply: The meat of the burger was cold and dry. And we ordered it medium or "al punto". The waitress asked about it. We suspect they forgot to bring the burgers when they were ready because they were cold and also because even being freshly prepared -as you mentioned- it took more than half an hour. They brought some burgers to clients in a table nearby, who were seated after us. My meat was smoked chunks that had a nice flavor but it was also pretty cold. I had 4 stars from a previous visit, I lowered to two. I wouldn't complain or put a low rating if it was a burger from a burger chain. But 18 euros for a burger and cheese fingers to share, and the meat cold and dry, it's not a proper standard for the kind of gourmet burger idea you...

Friendly staff. Unfortunately all the negative dining experiences of the United States: trying to remove plates before everyone is finished eating, upselling starters (which are american-sized and it's really too much to order a starter and a main course ... And when asked about sizes, they were described as "normal" whatever that means), burger was overcooked (I asked for medium-rare and it was medium-well so had no flavor), had a baked potato with sour cream which had no butter and they charged extra for a single pat of butter to have with it, staff came over every 15-min trying to take our dishes from the table and or consolidate our food to one plate... A tactic used in the US to hurry people along with their meal. Overall, mediocre to poor experience ... The prices were high in comparison to the quality of food and the service. But I did feel like I was right back in the US eating at a 99, an Applebee's, or another restaurant of that level. Maybe I just went...

We are working in madrid and came here for a no fuss can't go wrong with a burger attitude, we weren't expecting anything mind blowing or out of this world, just a decent burger, well obviously we were wrong.

The staff we're extremely miserable, all of our chips were cold, one person was given the completely wrong food (these things happen i know). I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and when i cut it in half it might as well come out mooing, when sent back to the kitchen the chef (if the person can be called a chef) literally just put it back on the griddle for a couple of seconds. None of the buns were toasted, the burgers were that hot that the plastic cheese they used didn't even melt in the slightest.

We paid, left and went on to another place to eat a costly lesson but a lesson learnt.

Unfortunately a horrible experience will not return and...
