An extremely terrible dining experience.
At first, we were greeted by a female server and only ordered one steak, one seafood paella, and a salad. However, a male server later brought us two steaks. We were about to ask if there had been a mistake, but unfortunately, he left quickly. We figured it wasn’t worth making a fuss—since the kitchen had already prepared the food, we decided to just eat the extra dish and pay for it.
But then something shocking happened. That same male server came back and saw that I had started eating the second steak. He suddenly gave me a disdainful look, and right in front of me, he picked up my plate and slammed it back down on the table. I would never have imagined such behavior from a server in any country—throwing a plate of food in front of a guest. I was furious and completely lost my appetite.
Later, the female server came back and confirmed that it was indeed their mistake. However, she said I shouldn’t have eaten the extra steak and implied it was my mistake.I angrily told her I had every intention of paying for the extra dish—that this was not about me making a mistake by eating it. The problem was they brought the wrong dish, didn’t explain anything, and then that man slammed the plate down, and now they were blaming me?
After I explained everything, the female server immediately acknowledged it was their mistake and told me not to worry—she would cover the cost of the extra dish. I truly appreciated her gesture, but I was still extremely angry. That damn male server didn’t even offer a single word of...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Avoid Puerto Rico Madrid at All Costs!
We visited Puerto Rico Madrid with a group of 7 (2 adults and 3 young kids, ages 3, 6, and 9). We arrived at 7:10 pm, and immediately, they told us that we would only be seated once the entire party arrived. Fair enough, we understood that and waited patiently. However, after 20 minutes, when the last person of our group arrived, we were told that they had already given our table away.
This is where the frustration started. We had waited for a reasonable amount of time with a 3-year-old, and now, not only did we lose our table, but we were told to leave and find another restaurant. This was incredibly inconvenient, especially with small children.
What really frustrated me was the lack of honesty. They could have been upfront about the wait time or at least communicated better during the wait. Instead, it seemed like they were more interested in turning tables than in treating their customers with respect and transparency.
The staff, especially the older lady, was cold and unhelpful. Integrity and honesty clearly aren’t priorities here. I would highly recommend you avoid this restaurant, especially if you have kids. It’s simply not worth the hassle or the poor service. There are plenty of other places in Madrid that value their customers and treat...
Read moreTLDR; developed a bad case of gastroenteritis after eating here, which ruined the two days I had in Madrid.
Really reasonably priced for the dishes and they had a couple of set menus, of which the server (?owner) was trying to really push the paella set menu. At his insistence, I ended up choosing the paella set menu and what a mistake that was (not sure if he was trying to get rid of old paella that they had made earlier in the night).
Granted the food we were served was tasty. However one small gripe was that the set menu was supposed to come with a serving of flan, but when it came to dessert the owner let us know that they had ran out of it and brought out a plate with 2 canned peaches instead. Mildly disappointing dessert substitute to say the least.
The morning after dining here, I started developing symptoms which I identified as likely a stomach bug. For the entire next day I felt so nauseous that it was often difficult to walk and was unable to eat anything or enjoy the rest of my trip.
All in all, I would not return, and I would just warn anyone who is keen to try this place to just keep in mind that the chances of getting gastro are low,...
