Taberna Degusta — Restaurant in Madrid

My children picked this restaurant. They did very well. All the food, including desserts were excellent. We started off with the capresse salad. This had a ball of warm Mozzarella on top of sliced well seasoned tomatoes. It didn't last long as we each took our portions. The broken egg and potato with Iberian ham was very different but excellent. We tried four of the five desserts and now all are gone in a sword fight of spoons trying to get the last taste. We read about this restaurant in tripadvisor and every one of the positive comments was absolutely right!!! Food is one of the best we have had and absolutely the best one in Madrid!! Taberna Degusta recupera y moderniza el concepto de la taberna, del bar. En un local de pequeñas dimensiones, al lado de la estación de Avenida de América, ofrecen una comida de corte clásico en formato de raciones y tapas. En la carta aparecen platos conocidos por todos, como el salmorejo, las croquetas, las gambas al ajillo, foie, tortillas o bravas.

Con sabores que todos tenemos en la cabeza o en nuestro recuerdo gustativo es difícil sorprender o darle un toque personal, pero en Degusta lo consiguen. Al foie le dan un punto de caramelo y le ponen una crema de turrón; a las croquetas de chipirón (que son geniales) le dan un toque de gratinado, el pisto lo sirven en una milhojas con yema de huevo curada, la torrija es broche.

En fin, que consiguen aportarle esos puntos novedosos que dobla su atractivo y consiguen un resultado muy bueno y apetecible, no hubo nada que no nos gustase, y que sin duda os animamos a probar.
