Buscando el Norte Santa Catalina — Restaurant in Palma

Great Tapas experience. The staff spoke English and Spanish and they offered a menu in both languages as well. We went with a group of 5 people and shared all of our dishes. Everything was tasty, but most dishes were filled with potatoes. Not that I don't love potatoes, but most dishes had them included. Felt slightly overwhelming. We had a late reservation, and it was true Mallorca-style timing. We were there from 9pm-12:30 am. Not that we were in any rush, but things did not happen quickly. Took a while for us to receive our first drinks. The company was great and ambiance was lovely, so the slow service was not a problem. Servers are disinterested, perfunctory at best. We arrived early in the evening for cocktails and were told there was almost no where to sit because of prior reservations. I asked about various tables and was told guest were coming shortly. We were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. We chatted and enjoyed our drinks. 30-40 minutes later when we left, the interior of the restaurant was totally empty. The terrace area outside where we preferred to be seated had about 8 tables and only two were occupied. During our time there no one came to our table to check on us. There were at least 4 waitresses all of whom stood around and chatted with each other. If you are looking for a place that reflects Mallorca and that has that local charm look elsewhere. My overall experience at Buscando el Norte, located in Santa Catalina, Palma de Mallorca, was truly exceptional. There is not a single aspect I would wish to change or suggest for improvement.

The food was outstanding — each dish, from the starters to the main courses, was exquisitely prepared and remarkably flavorful. My four friends and I then decided to order desserts, which turned out to be an equally delightful highlight of our evening.

To complement the superb cuisine, the service was impeccable. The waitstaff were warm, attentive, and consistently courteous — with special mention to the Argentine server, whose kindness and professionalism made our visit even more memorable.
