El Perrito — Restaurant in Palma

Just left El Perrito this morning, we have been having breakfast/brunch every morning for the past week ordering plates of food, coffees and smoothies. The female waitress with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail is a fantastic waitress, great attitude and always pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately when we were paying today at the till, we had a very unpleasant encounter which wasn’t in keeping with our experiences over the past week. The male waitor/server/kitchen worker was taking our payment at the till. We divided the price of our menu and were happy to proceed to pay with our card when the gentleman asked us very loudly, and “what do you give for service tip” the gentleman repeated this extremely loudly 3 times and I was quite embarrassed, I asked was the service fee not incorporated into the price of the meals and drinks being served to which he replied that it wasn’t. We added a tip each on to our individual tip amounts and paid and left. I have to say that I left feeling uncomfortable, as if they had been annoyed at us every morning for not tipping on top of our bills and this is why the waitor decided to embarrass us. It’s disappointing as it changes the experience we had here this week and I’m back again in palma in a few weeks and again a few weeks later but will make sure to steer clear as I don’t feel welcome to come anymore! It’s a shame as I always have enjoyed my coffees and meals in el perrito over the years as have friends I have brought there with me. I would advise the management to make it clear to patrons that tips are expected from the outset of entering the cafe so there won’t be unexpected tensions when...

Found this terrific place directly outside the Santa Catalina Market...menus available in Spanish, German, and English. Wait staff appeared to speak all three languages as well. It was completely full when we arrived (about 10:30 on a Saturday) for breakfast. A couple of bar stools were available at the counter but we opted to dine outside. Table and chairs were quaint and offered a small blanket to cover your legs. Food was prepared quickly. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and a French Omelet...loved both although the best part of the meal was the cafe con leche...ordered 2 cups each. It was a relaxing way to start a busy day of touring in Palma. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Reasonably priced by Palma...

Pues la verdad que fue toda una decepción y eso que la carta tiene muy buena pinta pero no llegamos a probarla.... lleve a mi madre a desayunar y estuvimos cerca de 20 minutos hasta que nos trajeron la carta y después las camareras salían a hablar con las mismas mesas todo el rato , salieron varias veces y no nos tomaron comanda se sentó otra mesa al lado nuestra y los atendieron antes de si quiera tomarnos la comanda cuando habían apenas 6 mesas , despues de 35 minutos sentados e ignorados nos levantamos y nos fuimos, me dedico al mismo oficio y la verdad que no me sentí bien atendido , hay que mimar a los clientes que son los que nos dan de comer , es la primera vez que dejo una reseña, pero pienso que tengo que decirlo para que se den cuenta.

Contestando a vuestra respuesta; me imagino que tenéis cámaras como en cualquier local por si pasa cualquier cosa dicho esto podeis comprobarlo , el día 12 de junio a las 10:00 am de la mañana nos sentamos mi madre y yo en la mesa de la esquina Izquierda de fuera habiendo solo 3 mesas fuera y unas 4 o 5 dentro(ocupadas) , hasta las 10:20 aprox nos atendieron para darnos la carta habiendo nos visto varias veces en los viajes que las camareras hacían para charlar con la mesa de la esquina opuesta , después de ver la carta y decidir que pedir las camareras se marcharon del local me imagino que sin avisar que estábamos fuera a los demás camareros ....esperamos hasta literal las 10;40 la mesa que estaba al lado nuestra terminaron y se levantaron y al ratito se sentaron otros clientes y la camarera salio al momento a atender a los clientes que se acababan de sentar y mi madre le dijo perdona es que llevamos ya bastante rato y llegamos antes y la respuesta de su camarera fue : estamos en ello con un tonito que no me hizo mucha gracia la verdad , yo puedo entender que un día malo lo puede tener cualquiera o que se te puede pasar cuando hay mucho trabajo pero repito que nos sentimos muy desatendidos... Y nos levantamos y nos fuimos , porque teníamos cita para renovar los pasaportes a las 12:30 am Lo digo sin acritud ni malos royos , ya me imagino que no suele ser así siempre tuvimos la mala suerte de que nos tocó a nosotros , pero agradezco...
