Firstly, I'll mention we were 15 people (but with one weeks notice). Pir table was booked for 7:30 and we were all there by 07:40. It took 1 hour for us to be able to take our order. The food came at different times, which I understand with this many people, however the staff would just come and shout out who has what instead of being an actual waiter and asking. They also brought the wrong naan bread, i was given a cheese one when I ordered a garlic one (I confirmed by asking It was garlic only) but it was cheese and I am lactose intolorent.
Also one couple didn't receive their naan bread until THE END of the meal (everyone had finished). This was after asking 3 times.
The food was sub standard, i had a madras which was okay and the right spice. However it wasn't temperature hot as it should've been. Also the onion bahjis didn't seem very fresh and seemed does very mass produced.
Also and honestly as someone who loves Indian food, this was quite insulting and annoying. I ordered a chapati and what was brought to me was an uncut plain naan bread, I cook Indian food ad ots my favourite and have made and had tradional chapatis, this was not one at all.
The whole thing seemed very mass produced and not organised at all. He service was terrible for the wait time and the fact that they were also rude when we went to pay. Because no one was ever around, we decided to pay at the counter separately as we needed to leave. But one of my friends was rudely told that this is not how they do things and she should sit down and calculate and then pay.
I don't want to disparage the restaurant but I was excited for this meal and was very disappointed. Therefore I personally wouldn't recommend if you are a fan of Indian food. If you don't eat it much then its okay for you. It is cheaper than other Indian restaurants in Palma, but you get what you pay for.
Again I want to stress this was just my experience so hopefully they can learn from this. Like I said if you don't eat Indian food much, then this place will be...
Read moreI dined here today and found the experience to be quite disappointing, primarily due to the service. The food itself was average; I would rate it a 3 out of 5. The flavors were decent, but nothing particularly stood out. The service, however, was extremely slow and frustrating. It took 45 minutes just to get our initial order of 4 rotis and 2 vegetables to the table. Knowing the delays, the staff tried to compensate by providing 4 complimentary papadams, but this hardly made up for the long wait.
Our tea order, which we specifically asked for after the meal, was brought in the middle of our dining. When we attempted to order additional items, it took three attempts to get someone's attention. For the second round, which consisted of just 1 curry and 2 rotis, it took another 20 minutes to arrive. I've never had to wait this long between courses at any Indian restaurant, no matter the location.
The most frustrating part was when I provided feedback about the slow service. Instead of acknowledging it, the server justified it by suggesting we should have ordered everything at once as it saves "our time, their time and the cook's". This response was dismissive and inappropriate. Indian restaurants, particularly those catering to Indian patrons, typically do not operate this way. A suggestion for the management: consider putting up a sign stating "Catered to Europeans Only," if that is indeed the service model you are following. This experience has left a sour taste, and I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously to improve their service standards.
In summary, while the food is passable, the service desperately needs improvement. If you plan to visit, be prepared for...
Read moreLocated in a bustling area with easy accessibility, Jaipur Tandoori Indian Restaurant in Palma is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys delicious Indian cuisine. You can find many other restaurants, bars, and pubs around this area, making it a great location to spend your evening. The restaurant offers both external and internal seating facilities, and the interior seating arrangements and decor are impressive.
The best thing about this restaurant is the service and hospitality. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant, with cool Bollywood melodies playing in the background. You can start your meal with some papad served with different types of chutneys, followed by the mouth-watering chicken kebab and aloo tikki. The mango lassi is a must-try, and the vegetable pulav rice and dalmakhni are also highly recommended. The butter garlic naan, in particular, is thin and perfectly done, earning it a five-star rating from me.
Street parking is readily available, so you won't have to worry about finding a place to park. If you're a tourist visiting Palma for the first time, I suggest taking a long walk around the area. You'll come across beautiful vintage houses with small windows and balconies, making it a great way to soak up the local culture. Overall, Jaipur Tandoori Indian Restaurant is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a great...
