We’ve always loved this restaurant’s Plaza Mayor location ,great service, authentic Italian atmosphere, and excellent pizza. Unfortunately, our recent visit to their Santa Catalina branch was a real letdown. First of all, the prices are excessive: a plain Margherita starts at €14.50, with some pizzas going up to €22.50, which feels unreasonably high. For that price, you’d expect exceptional quality and service, but neither delivered. The terrace service was particularly poor. The waiter seemed more interested in chatting with friends who had come to visit him than in taking care of the customers. Our pizzas arrived without anyone checking if everything was okay, and ours was extremely salty. The warm, Italian feel that we loved in Plaza Mayor was completely missing here. The only positive point was the location: perfect if you have kids, as it’s right next to a park and an ice cream shop, which allowed us to still enjoy the evening despite the...
Read moreHard to understand how they have so many stars. The waiter said they had been open a few weeks but had another restaurant in another location. We went for lunch, we ordered some starters we wanted some Pinsas bit they didn't have so we ordered aubergines they only had 1 racion left. When the main course came one of my friends ordered tortellini with prawns and tomato cherry, when it arrived it was spaghetti with 3 chopped up prawns and about 3 tomatos. I ordered tagliatelle with onions and meat, it was over sweet and had 2 small pieces of meat and the pasta was not tagliatelle but of a ring shape. If you are informed that the pasta would be different no problem. The rest had pizzas and said they were ok. The deserts were not good at all, we had lemon pie, very small tiramisu and cannoli which tasted like cardboard. I personally do...

Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by several issues. First, there was a mix-up with our order—we were served pasta instead of pizza—though the staff quickly corrected the mistake.
The beautiful surroundings were ruined by a loud, drunken group of Brits, who were enthusiastically welcomed by the staff with free shots. When we moved tables to escape the noise, the group mocked us for our sexual orientation. The staff did nothing to intervene or even offer an apology.
For an almost €20 pizza, you expect a civilized dining experience—not one where the staff encourages rowdy behavior and ignores harassment. Great food isn’t enough when the atmosphere and service fall so short....
