Arepera Vista Avila — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

I didn't really enjoy this place. The customer service was terrible, the waiter (I presume owner) was very unfriendly, staring at the customers the whole time. Also, this place doesn't allow you to pay separately for each person. Com'on, really? They even put a sign at the back of the bar for you to "see it" = or rather not. After you order, your order is served and afterwards you are told that info as a surprise. I so much wanted to tell the owner ok, either we pay for our order separately, or we don't pay at all.

They don't have any milkshakes for instance, so the choices are unusually limited for an arepera. And tequeñoses are only with Eidam or something like that. No white cheese? No option with tajada available? And the portion is just 4 tequeñoses for a price of 6 you could normally get elsewhere. I mean, what is this place? Not even the dough was good as it was very oily. I've only had worse tequeñoses in BirgerKing and they promptly stopped selling these as these were no tequeñoses at all.

Well, if you are after a really nice and more authentic Venezuelan food, there is a much better place just around the corner and they have great ratings as well as a wide variety of things to choose from.

This particular place was all but arepera. And the customer service was far from good. So, I've tried it and never again - I don't want to...

Absolutely love this arepera! We've been coming since they opened about 8 years ago. We've eaten arepas in other places but Avila is our favourite. We always bring visitors to what we consider the best arepera in Puerto.

The arepas are crispy and very generous. They are not greasy at all. The red wine is excellent. There is a wide choice of dishes, most of which we've sampled and enjoyed over the years. The quality is consistently high.

Highly recommend a visit to try them yourselves! The staff/owners are delightful. Prices are very reasonable.

No suelo comentar en estos sitios ,pero debo hacerlo ,puesto la contestación que le han dado a Patricia no es CIERTA, en primero lugar no se trata ,si hacen cafés o no, eso es lo de menos, cabe destacar que NO eran dos cafés lo que queríamos,eran más cafés ,cervezas, etc y tb se encargaron arepas para llevar (cosa que NO se comentó ,en primer lugar son las formas y el trato en el que se nos dirigió ,dice que una persona apoyó las piernas en la silla ,(fue doblar una pierna y apoyar un minuto en su propia silla ) enseguida se le dijo SIENTESE BIEN ( como si hablase con un niño de 5 años )con respecto al tabaco ,es una terraza al aire libre ,y no pensé que no se pudiese fumar y de 6 personas solo se encendió un iqos una sola vez y al minuto (NO SE PUEDE FUMAR) ahí está el cartel, se respetó y se apagó dicho aparato.A todas estas el trato hacia nosotros fue PÉSIMO, puesto que fueron restricciones y negaciones por todos los lados . ..y nos hizo sentir , como que él nos hacía un favor por estar ahí sentados ,con NO VOLVER tenemos . Pero ahí qué decir las cosas tal cual fueron ,no lo que...
