Pizzería La Tasquita — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

Group of 9 people, wanted to get a table there was a group already leaving we knew and let us have their table but the staff took their time to clean it so we had to stand and wait for it about 10 minutes. Two old ladies were serving us and and because we don’t speak Spanish we were not their favourite. Had to wait 5 minutes to get the menu another 10 minutes to get our drink and another 10 minutes for us to order food that’s already 35 minutes wasted down the drain, meanwhile we were waiting they served every Spanish speaking person as soon as they came in and gave them right away the menu, those two ladies kept staring at us at the counter and never came to us. Pizzeria La Tasquita is centrally located on the main square of Puerto del la Cruz and offers a rich menu with both lunch dishes, pasta, pizza and meat dishes.

I chose to order a beer and pasta carbonara.

The beer was quickly served with a platter of bread by a nice and efficient waiter. The pasta was served after about 15 minutes which was perceived as appropriate.

The carbonara tasted good, but there was little ham and the spaghetti could have been cooked a little longer. I also missed that the dish was served with spoon in addition to fork and knife.

The staff appeared cheerful and polite and the service was generally good, but I missed some more interest and commitment from the guests.

This is the restaurant to be at if you’re looking for nice, rich, yummy meals that are good portions. The staff are friendly too! I’m sure it’s obvious my husband and I aren’t locals, but they treated us so kindly. My husband got spaghetti carbonara and I got pesto with carne stuffed ravioli. It was just chefs kiss delicious. The drinks were good too. Honestly this may be our spot for the remainder of the trip just for the experience and food. If you haven’t been before, please take a moment to check it out.
