Went there last may 2024, and the service was a lot better.

Wanted to change the review so it’s fair for the owners. My review down below was marked as false by the owner so that’s still a bad point that he wanted to remove my bad review.

Augustus 2023: My experience at Pomodoro restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz was a mix of highs and lows. The food itself was quite good, and the restaurant's location by the water was truly fantastic. Being able to dine by the water added a special touch to the overall atmosphere. However, I must admit that the friendliness of the staff left much to be desired. Throughout our visit, we didn't feel the warmth and attentiveness that one would expect from a dining establishment. It was disappointing to notice a lack of attention from the staff, and the fact that our meal took an unusually long time to arrive added to the frustration. Waiting for approximately 85 minutes for a pizza and a pasta dish was an unexpected delay, especially when we observed that people who arrived after us were served their orders sooner. While the location and the quality of the food are tempting factors for a return visit, the lackluster experience with the staff leaves me uncertain. The potential for a great dining experience is definitely there, but improvements in staff friendliness and service efficiency would be essential to make a revisit a more appealing option. In conclusion, Pomodoro has the potential to be a top-tier dining spot due to its stunning location and delicious food. However, the lack of attentive and friendly service during my visit is a significant downside that would need to be addressed to fully enjoy what the restaurant...

I'm truly disappointed by the experience at this restaurant. Despite their seemingly pleasant demeanor, it's evident that their service leaves much to be desired. It's surprising that the staff receives positive comments when beneath their smiles lies a significant issue: they seem to prioritize customers ordering main courses if they want a window seat with a sea view.

Upon arriving at 9 PM and securing a table with a view, the waiter set the table and handed us the menus. After ordering cocktails and requesting to keep the menu, the waiter left, only to be replaced by a woman who could have been a manager or another server—it was unclear. She informed us that those by the windows are expected to order dinners, as cocktails are reserved for inside seating. She even implied that our Eastern cultural norms should adapt to their restaurant's preferences. Politely, I expressed uncertainty about ordering anything and decided it was best to leave.

Her response, "Alright, that works better for us," was a testament to their complete lack of courtesy. In all my travels, including Tenerife and numerous other places worldwide, I've never encountered such disrespectful treatment and a lack of personal etiquette. I am thoroughly disappointed and would strongly advise against...

Disgusting food, avoid!

We came here, because the restaurant next door was closed and it looked like a decent place. Service was unbelievably slow, it took 45 minutes before anything arrived - the youngest in our group was screaming from hunger before the food came. When it arrived it was a disappointment across the board. Fish was clearly a deep frozen fillet, most likely unfrozen in microwave and not spiced, even pasta was devoid of taste and with water left from boiling it. Absolute culinary disaster, whoever cooked there on Jul 8, 2024 should not just be fired but get a lifetime prohibition from getting anywhere near any kitchen. In retrospect it would have been better to buy a sandwich on a petrol station than eat this junk. I have eaten in many places around the world but this easily makes into the bottom 10 worst restaurants ever - certainly the worst food I was served in Tenerife during my many stays here.

And, since it was me who suggested going there I had to then endure the wrath of the whole family until the end of that day ruined by this...

Excellent food, great service and a brilliant view. Could not recommend this restaurant more if I tried! The pictures show the view from where you sit (outside - there are some seats inside as well). The restaurant is actually built on and into a cliff face (that sounds way more dangerous than it actually is!) This allows you to look out to a small cove that the restaurant overlooks. You can see people jumping off the cliff face into the clear sea, no more than 100 metres from where you would be having your meal. The location (depending on the time of day - our visit was at around 2/3pm) keeps you in the shade. And with the sea breeze you are kept cool but not cold - like a car with good air conditioning. Once again, I highly recommend you visit this restaurant!
