Restaurante Lunacaprese — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

The most deplorable dining experience of our vacation. We chose this restaurant for something light to eat and drink. We ordered nachos, only to be told 10 minutes later that they were no longer available. So we decided that each of us would get a type of bruschetta (my boyfriend chose cheese and garlic, and I chose salmon and avocado).

I should mention that the bruschetta was just a regular slice of bread toasted on a grill (not the small bruschettas as usually served). However, the most embarrassing moment came when the bill arrived: my salmon and avocado bruschetta was €1.5 more expensive than on the menu. Both the physical and digital menus listed €6.5, but the bill showed €8.

I mentioned this to the waiter, who said the new price was €8 but that she would correct it. We waited for a while, and another waitress came, saying she would check and return. She came back with three menus where the price had been scribbled over with a marker to make it appear that €8 was actually listed on the menu....

We sat down and after asking our waitress to clean the table which was quite sticky and dirty from previous guests, she suggested we go to another table. This wouldn't have been a problem if the only tables that were free we between a TV and energetic soccer fans. We told the waitress we wanted to stay were we were, she just had to wipe the table. After waiting for what seemed to be forever we noticed the table we were sitting at also wasn't ideal. To the left and the right the doors of the entrance were open so were in the middle of a draught. At 9:30 pm its rather chilly so we ended up opting for a take away. The pizza itself was tasty. For an average of 8€ you get a decent sized pizza with a decent amount of fresh toppings. Too bad the service wasn't great. The waitress herself was friendly and helpful. We got greeted good at first, got to order and the waiter was nice. But then when we got our appetizer it tasted bland/like water, and it wasn’t very pleasant. We thought maybe it’s just made differently here but when our food came the food was just as bad. One dish was burnt and tasted only that, the other was a very small dish (5 spoonfuls) and this was not advertised. No one came to check if it was good, and we had to wait 50 minutes until someone came to check up on us.
