This restaurant is always busy for a reason, it's the best in the area. We had lunch one day and we had dinner another day. Both experiences were amazing. The staff is really polite and welcoming. They will help you with any questions you have (different size of the dishes, what meat or fish it's what you are ordering, etc) They treat everybody the same and that's something I liked a lot. On the first day we were hosted by a nice young lady and we were delighted with the quality of the food. The day we went for dinner we would have liked to have dinner on the terrace but all the tables were busy and we didn't want to wait. Inside it was also busy but they sat us on a nice table immediately. Our waiter was a young, cheerful man named Omar. He was very nice and very talkative, he made us laugh and for what I saw he was making the same with other tables. I had in mind to ask for the cheesecake after my dinner but I was to full to eat anything else. I had it the day we had lunch and it was delicious. The seafood tasted very fresh and the only thing I didn't like was the sangria that my husband ordered. If you are around Las Setas, don't waste your time going anywhere else because there is no food like the one you get in...
Read moreFood is OK, presentations are nice but taste was not particularly surprised me. Probably because of the location, the restaurant is very busy. Even so, I think they need to put more waters to the floor. Me and other tables were sat down around more than 5 minutes, nobody came to us. The waiter should look at the tables more frequently to notice what we need. Also, I ordered strawberry mojito, but it’s too sweet after one sip, so I just left it on the table and ordered wine. Until I paid the bill, nobody asked me about it, not even single words mentioning it. And one of the waiter even forgot that I ordered a glass of wine… I know it’s not fine dining and it’s full of tourist that we might never come back again, and I am not asking them to take it off from the bill because I ordered it, still, the waiters need to pay more attention to their customers and the tables. And even the wine, “the selection of the day” is way more expensive than normally ones, I left half of glass, and again, they didn’t ask anything. One sentence to sum up: they just don’t care! Food deserves 3 stars, atmosphere also is 4stars. I left 1 star because of the bad service. Hopefully they’ll notice this...
Read moreWe found La Malvaloca to be a nice restaurant with delicious food, good prices and good service.
We had (and shared) the following: The tuna tataki: really good, it melts in your mouth! The sauce and the presentation were also good. The only thing I would change/add is maybe the sauce. I would add some small droplets of wasabi or something a bit fresh & spicy Spanish potatoes with whiskey sauce: they were tasty and the sauce was good (maybe just a little bit too salty). Works well as a side dish The spinach risotto: it was creamy and delicious, a really good choice The beef steak: the meat was perfectly cooked but to be honest it wasn't the best cut (too many tendons/pieces of fat). However, it was tasty. The sauce was interesting (it tasted like...pizza!). It came with really crispy fries
Even if some things could have been better, overall we had a nice experience and tasted some good food.
Random note: The restaurant would seem even nicer if the ceramic-looking plates would be actual ceramic, it would really tie...
