Usually I spare myself from adding less than 5 star reviews. But today was different as I went with my wife, and she loves Japanese cuisine.
I'll just elaborate on my ratings -
FOOD - It was good, teriyaki chicken was quite flavourful 👍🏽 although my miso soup wasn't hot enough for my liking. Maybe it was just mine. I think the other things affected the flavour of the overall eating experience.
ATMOSPHERE - nice & spacious place with good interiors. I'll elaborate more on this later.
SERVICE - It is my personal opinion, but the place needs a strict manager (maybe there is one but he/she wasn't there when we went). I have been to some wow places where waiters run the show, but this gamble only works if your servers are motivated and self driven, which unfortunately is not the case here.
It opens at 12 noon, we were the first customer for the day, looking to have some nice brunch around 12:15pm, I do not see the point of our waiter to not make us feel welcomed, instead giving us 'I don't care if you eat or leave' attitude all the time with a bossy body language. I cannot say he had a bad day because the day just started! Zero politeness during conversations, forget about a smile.
We went along and placed our requests as we were starving early morning work hours.
Second, it was around 12:45pm - why is the floor cleaned when the food is already served and someone is eating? Yes, the person was considerate enough to not swipe directly under our table but was cleaning around us with the smell of disinfectant floor cleaner. I might have accepted it had the opening hours been 5-6am or similar but you are opening at 12noon!! ....and representing Japanese cuisine!!!!! It is sad, maybe it was just today but I'll rate based on my experience.
I'll excuse myself from mentioning these things if you were a Yatai or Raman-ya, which I'm assuming you are not. Since you have a well decorated place located in the heart of Valencian shopping center and the prices are upmarket, the services need to match too. I understand when we eat out at such a place that specially represents not-native cuisine/culture - we not only pay for the food but for...

My visit to Buga Ramen in Valencia offered a unique dining experience, highlighted by its captivating Anime-themed decor. This impressive element added a delightful touch to the overall ambiance, making it a standout feature.
The staff’s friendliness was a highlight, contributing positively to the atmosphere. However, I did notice several areas needing attention. The restaurant seemed to overlook some basic amenities, evident in the lack of serviettes and the empty chili oil container. These small details, while minor, are crucial for a complete dining experience.
On a similar note, the ladies’ restroom had a broken lock, and the absence of paper towels was inconvenient. It seems that Buga Ramen could benefit from being more attentive to such details, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free visit for their guests.
As for the food, it was average in terms of taste. The ramen didn’t quite reach the flavor depth typical of more authentic versions. The menu did include vegan options, which is commendable, but the quality of the meat used in the dishes was underwhelming.
In terms of value, the pricing was reasonable, and the restaurant’s location in Valencia was easily accessible. This, coupled with the unique Anime-inspired setting, does offer a certain appeal.
In conclusion, Buga Ramen has the potential to be a fantastic spot for Anime enthusiasts and ramen lovers. However, it’s essential for them to focus on the finer details, both in their culinary offerings and in maintaining their facilities, to truly enhance the overall...
Read moreWe arrived at 15:10. The waitress told us they closed at 16. But that it was ok and we had time. She went ahead of us so we followed. I saw her dump 4 menus at a table so we sat there. We looked at the menu trying to decide as fast as possible so we would have time to eat.. with 2 kids you need some time.. we waited 10 minutes for her to come take our order. She didn’t speak English.. so most was pointing and hoping. It then took 28 minutes for our food to arrive leaving 12 minutes to eat. We did.. my kids were stressed about the time. Half way through the crispy chicken I discovered that most of mine were raw. In the light of the rooms it was near impossible to tell. I told the waitress and she took the plate and left. I had spat out a piece on the plate. She arrived back a few minutes later with the same chicken on the same plate where the raw chicken had been. Even the piece I had spat out returned. I then sent my daughters back as well as it was raw as well.. she had eaten more of it than me. Came back on the same plate again. I am loathe to think how the hygiene is in the kitchen.. raw chicken is a no go for any restaurant. And sending the same meat back to us AND on the plate with the raw chicken juices.. I cannot recommend this restaurant unfortunately. I can however recommend that you thouroughly check your food...
