Sunday 8 December 2024 @ 10, three of us dined in at the Valencia location for breakfast. Using the app to pre-order for eat in and the Speed Lane. Easy to use app. All good with the ordering process.
Interior is nice. Love the vibe inside.
But things went downhill once food and drinks arrived.
My husband had the matcha pancakes which were burnt and tough. Yes burnt. Not fresh at all. Simply very poor quality! What a shame. He ate most of it as he was hungry. What else can you do. By now the restaurant was packed so it’s a bit hard to return the food. How hard can it be to make pancakes and cook them evenly on each side?
Our friend with us ordered the Mediterranean Eggs Benedict breakfast. It was to have two POACHED eggs per the menu description. Instead he was served HARD BOILED eggs! He cut the eggs in half and the yolks were hard boiled and solid. Definitely different than the photos show and the description reads.
Plus my toast with wild mushrooms (mushroom mix was very good) and the friend’s Mediterranean Eggs Benedict breakfast each stated on 'toast'??? But…
Both were made on NOT toasted bread. How do you call it toast when the bread was cold thus soggy from the toppings??? Simply TOAST the bread or do not state it as toast on the menu.
We all shared an Açaí bowl. It was good and prepared as stated.
My coffee latte (with oat milk) was luke warm at best. Husband’s matcha tea latte (with oat milk) was just ‘okay’. Both sized as large. Friend had a flat white and he said it was mediocre. The baristas seemed totally bored and not happy behind the espresso machine.
Bottom line, it’s like the cooks didn’t feel like making us breakfast on Sunday morning. Such a different experience than we have had for dinner three times (twice last month in Lisboa at two different locations in that city and once here on 22 November in Valencia).
We really enjoyed our dinners at HG but we will never again come for breakfast. Especially in Valencia where the staff seemed to not want to be ‘there’...
Read moreHonest Greens in Valencia is a long-awaited opening that I’ve been excited about for almost six months. My love for this restaurant chain began during my vacation in Lisbon, and now that it’s here in Valencia, I can confidently say it’s the best place for quick, healthy food.
I’ve already been here three times, and each time was fantastic. The menu has an amazing selection: sweet potato fries are simply out of this world — hearty, delicious, and healthy. The cured and baked salmon are perfectly cooked, and the truffle potato and hummus are just incredible. The chicken is tender and juicy, but the beef was a bit tough. I hope the team pays attention to the supplier and the cut of beef they use for the steaks.
The desserts are a highlight as well. Macadamia cheesecake is my absolute favorite, just as delicious as in Lisbon. The brownie is tasty but has an intense dark chocolate flavor that I’d tone down a bit. The chia seed dessert is good, and the kiwi kombucha is simply amazing.
Another huge plus is the ability to customize your dishes. Whether you want more veggies or a combo of fish and meat, it’s no problem at all. This allows you to enjoy a variety of flavors while also meeting your protein goals with ease.
The service is also incredible — the speed and kindness of the staff make the experience even better. Plus, the restaurant design and style create such a warm, cozy, yet stylish atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you want to come with friends and spend time together.
I truly love Honest Greens and hope they open more locations in Valencia. The city has been missing a place where you can get quick, healthy food. Thank you to the team at Honest Greens for what you do — you’re the best, keep making us happy with your...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place. While the concept is fantastic, the execution falls short on the food safety. While waiting to order, you get to see how the staff works behind the glass counter. Unfortunately what we saw was quite appalling. There was huge cross contamination between food ingredients, half due to how the layout of the ingredient containers and sauce bottles were arranged, and the other half due to the staff touching everything without care. When I say everything, I mean everything. From ingredients to their personal phones to pushing down garage in the garbage bins to each other’s legs (yes, we saw one staff member jokingly grab another staff member’s leg by the ankle), then going right back to the counter and touching food.
We couldn’t believe what we were seeing right in the open, without any regard for food and health safety, when working in a dining establishment. I can understand you want to have a good time at work, but to put people’s health at risk, that is a big no-no from us.
We also couldn’t believe that no one else was paying attention to what was happening, everyone seems to be in their own world on their phones or even if they were looking at the staff doing this, they either didn’t understand anything about food safety or they didn’t care.
This place could be fantastic, if it were not for some thoughtfulness to be placed on the layout of the ingredient containers and a massive overhaul for staff education on...
